Do not let this put you off, the class of acts that get to perform here would do justice to any international stage, and indeed, many of them do just that. The place is friendly and well managed. Just get there early and don't be too possesive over your personal space. When I got there late once, they couldn't let me in 'cos it was full. I did offer to strip naked and grease myself with cookin' oil, but they said that they couldn't let me do that as it was a cold night.

All sorts of talent passes through this venue, from small indie bands (I saw Bastille here a year…read morebefore they were signed) to large, more well known ones, of which I cannot think of any examples, so you'll just have to take my word for it. The venue is fairly small inside, but it has a wicked atmosphere. The garden is a very large area but unfortunately closes at half 10. This is because some d*ckheads moved in next door and filled noise complaints (honestly who does that?) and after almost being shutdown, they now have to close the garden early and there's a grumpy security guard who'll tell you to shutup if you're mildly noisy. There's a chinese restaurant attached, which isn't as good as it used to be, but it's useful to be able to order food at the bar. It's now £8 per ticket for smaller bands, so feels a bit pricey, especially seeing as drinks and food are about that too.

My first time here was for a Yelp event, and then I returned with another friend to see Matt Bianco. This place is just incredibly comfortable. Great views everywhere thanks to the raised outer circle, and far more seating than I've ever seen in a venue with a dancefloor. Lots of small and large booths to accommodate your group, no matter how many people you came with. The raised area is lined with a bar and lots of bar stools, so you can sit down comfortably, set down your beer to applaud, and enjoy a perfect view of the stage, while those behind you can easily see the stage over your shoulders. Really well designed. The acoustics here are extraordinary too. I do wish they'd have some more popular acts, or, you know, ones I actually know (the current events schedule didn't have any names I recognized). I would jump on the chance to see Bruno Mars or James Morrison here again! However, I would definitely make an effort to find a reason or an event to come back to Under the Bridge. My friend felt the same way. Just something very welcoming and comfortable about this place.

Well they don't - get yourself down to the Boom Boom where Pete Feenstra's helping to keep the blues alive. The clubhouse at Sutton United FC is the venue and Mr Feenstra puts on a band there most weekends (and sometimes during the week as well). Over the past couple of years I have seen some great blues acts there - Popa Chubby, Joe Bonamassa, Devon Allman, Walter Trout and Nine Below Zero to name but a few. Drinks are at social club prices which means that you still get change from a fiver and the music is fabulous. he also promotes a fair few "tribute" bands which are not really to my taste but he's keeping music alive and that is really what matters. Entry fees vary but it's normally ranging from £8 - £15.

The Crawdaddy Club, which started towards the end of 1962, was the idea of Giorgio Gomelsky, filmmaker and blues enthusiast. His first resident group was the Dave Hunt R & B Band, which briefly featured Ray Davies who later formed The Kinks. In February 1963, the Rolling Stones played their first gig at the Crawdaddy Club, at the Station Hotel Richmond for a fee of £1 each, plus a share of the door. The Crawdaddy Club used to be here as part of the Station Hotel, and was the London equivalent of Liverpool's Cavern Club. The Rolling Stones were the house band at the Crawdaddy, and the Beatles first heard them play here in 1963. The Yardbirds were regulars too. The Station Hotel is now called Edwards and is directly opposite Richmond Station. By April 1963, the Stones had two gigs a week at the Crawdaddy and a weekly slot on Eel Pie Island. During this time, they achieved their first chart hit, Come On. After the Stones departed on tour, another leading R & B group from Kingston, the Yardbirds, took over the Crawdaddy residency from 1963-66, and various line ups included Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck and Jimmy Page. Upstairs seating is arranged as soft benches around long coffee tables which would seem to be a good use of space when there is a band present. I was there during the day and it was quite quiet so online radio provided the background music rather than a live band. However I understand that upcoming gigs (music and art) are listed on their website. I enjoyed my visit and shall return next time I am in there area. It was refreshing to visit a good cafe that stands apart for the normal high street effort.

Let's be honest, eating dinner at a garden centre usually sounds like the sort of things your parents or grandparents (depending on your age!) would do, however, this little slice of African themed heaven is a far cry from what you'd normal expect of such a place! I've not made it to Africa, though have traveled widely in Asia, and the outside felt totally authentic, being similar to bars and restaurants I've eaten in abroad. Even outside, you are sheltered from the rain, and inside, where the buffet is served, it's warm and cosy, with live music of an evening, and the most amazing spread of food. I've been a number of times since that first dinner, having returned in the day with my dog, as it's dog friendly if you're happy to sit outside - they even bring a bowl of water for our four legged friends! I've had lunch there, and the most fabulous afternoon cream tea, and cake, whilst the choice is limited, what they offer is very tasty (and I'm a fan of cake!) I loved it that much the first night, that I've refused to go there for a meal again, as I'm going for my 40th, which happens to fall on a Thursday, and looking forward to sharing the experience with close friends. The service is always friendly. It's not always super fast, as it runs on Kenyan time, so this isn't the place to go in a rush. Indeed, why would you? It's such a delightful experience that it deserves to be cherished. Oh, and the shop is pretty fab too! So yes, dog friendly, fab food, great shop and friendly service!
