Visited from Philadelphia. Found the instructor be rude and her flow was mediocre. Not a warm and inviting studio.

Wat Mongkolratanaram of Florida - ...ornate, quiet and serene

Listen... I came for a "temple visit" and somehow ended up having one of the best Thai meals…read moreFlorida has to offer sitting on a big-ass group table.....Go figure. Wat Mongkolratanaram OR "Wat Tampa" is what happens when Tampa minding its business suddenly turns into Thailand for a few hours. You walk in and it's peaceful, beautiful, very Thai ... and then Sunday hits and it turns into a low-key food hustle in the best possible way. The food? NOT that fake, sweet, mall Thai food. This is the real deal. Aunties back there cooking like they've got something to prove--and they do. Pad Thai, grilled meats, curries, mango sticky rice... all hitting like you just got off a 12 hour flight in Bangkok, not I-95. Couple things--CASH only. This is not the place for your Amex Platinum or Apple Wallet personality. Also, yeah, there's a line. Relax..... You've waited longer for worse decisions..... get there early. Best part? You grab your food, walk over to the river, and just sit there eating like you've got nowhere to be. No rush, no nonsense, just good food and a vibe that makes you forget you're still in Florida. It's not fancy. It's not curated. Nobody's trying to impress you--and somehow that's exactly why it does. So, If you're anywhere near Tampa on an early Sunday morning , you must check this place out.

Service: 4/5 Food: 4.5/5…read morePrice: under $20 Being home for the holidays means returning to an old tradition of attending their Sunday market. While the set up has changed over the years, the food has mostly remained the same. Maybe to accommodate the long lines, they moved some food stalls to a tent area away from the main patio + posted a billboard menu. One big difference were the non-food tents, they used to have a plant stall, but I didn't see it this time. As it was a post-holiday weekend, they maybe limited what was open. We usually aim to arrive right at opening (~9AM) before the line for the noodle soup line gets too long. Arriving ~10:30AM/after the first wave would also work too. Point is to arrive in the earlier half of the day before food items get sold out. Tip for the temple: cover your shoulders, shorts/skirts almost to the knees, shoes off before you go in, give a small cash donation. CASH ONLY What I Recommend: - Fresh Rolls with Shrimp - Fried Sweet Potatoes - Pumpkin Curry - Noodle Soup with Thin Noodles - Pad Thai - Fried Sesame Balls - Mango Sticky Rice

This community is a home to those who want to learn about mindfulness meditation and the art of living a mindful life. The inspiration for the teaching come from Thich Naht Hanh and the Buddha's teaching. They offer classes, workshops, a full day of meditation, different retreats and more. Some classes are donation base, some are not. Overall it's open for anyone in the community. I used to come more often to the weekly meditation on Sundays but then I got busy teaching at the same time it was offered. I try to come once in a while to the monthly Saturday meditation day. It's once a month on a Saturday from 9-4. They offer some meditation, then walking meditation, then Darmha talk ( teaching) lunch etc. everything is done in silence... The facility is beautiful and currently they are building residential wing I believe. You can register on line to receive their newsletter and know. I did not take any pictures as I thought it wasn't respectful.

Let me begin by saying that my first reiki session with Lisa was amazing. But, that is where the…read moregood feeling end. I booked a package of reiki sessions with her in September of 2025. After the first session, she told me she'd reach out within a few days to schedule our next session and send follow up notes with items I can work on. I didn't hear from her for about a week and a half (after I reached out to her). She scheduled our next session. The day before she cancelled it, stating that her son was sick. I understood. No big deal at all. The next week, cancelled again. I didn't hear from her for weeks after that. She told me the place she'd been working out of flooded and that we'd have to switch to distance reiki (which is not what I signed up for, nor is it what I paid for). I told her I wasn't comfortable with that and kindly asked for a refund. She didn't respond for over a week. And said she'd like to schedule a call to talk through things. I hesitated, but agreed to talk with her. I didn't hear anything back. So, a week later I told her I didn't want to continue in the program any longer (it was early November by this point). She changed the terms of our agreement, so she agreed to refunding the money I'd paid her upfront (I have her agreement in writing). She told me she'd initiated the refund and the money would be back in my account within 21 business days. After many emails, calls and texts asking where my refund is, I have yet to hear anything back. Lisa stole money from me. She is not a healer. She is a fraud. I have filed a police report and have turned her into the district attorney's office in the hopes of recovering the money she owes me. Beware of people who act like they're healers, but are really just looking to take advantage of vulnerable people.
