Moody-Connolly Funeral Home - Memories Of Love

Moody-Connolly Funeral Home

Donna P My dear husband passed away the day before Hurricane…read moreHelene. As you can imagine life was quite chaotic at the time. Moody-Connolly treated my husband with such care and tenderness as if he were a member of their family. The professional yet personal demeanor of the staff was so very much appreciated throughout his transport from our home to the very last moment upon entering the crematorium. The staff gave me time to spend with my Frank - as if our last minutes were just as important to them. They stood at a quiet respectful distance from us as I said my last words to him. I told them I was ready and they came up to me as we closed the casket and transported him for his cremation. John Monteith allowed me to participate in my husband's cremation as I had requested. I cannot explain how very much this meant to me. We did everything in life together and it was as comforting and appropriate as anything I could ask. The attendants were very gracious and spoke soft kind words as I turned away to leave. I know there could not have been a Funeral Home to carry out my request so respectfully. (Especially during the time Hurricane Helene was expected in the next few hours). I will always remember. The memory is precious because of the personal care all at Moody-Connolly provided for us. We had everything signed in our pre-need arrangements which assisted in making for peaceful arrangements. We had even picked out urns for both of us. Maybe others would think it not necessary but with pre-need planning we could make these kind of decisions and having matching urns was important to us. As you must know in reading this review, I can recommend Moody-Connolly Funeral Home to any family desiring the best for friends or loved ones. I will be eternally grateful to them.

We used Hillcrest when My Moma passed last week, as we did when my Daddy passed 21 months ago…read more This group of people are the most compassionate and hard working people that I have dealt with during a time of grief. CB Dunson, is top notch!!! He was so compassionate to use when Daddy died and even got a picture of a beagle put on Daddy's vault lid and for Moma's he had her dog put on her's plus a great picture that the funeral home used of Moma put on hers. At the grave, he remembered us telling him that Daddy had said if Moma died first he was burying the phone with her, so he put little phones on Moma's name thing that directed people to the grave and then afterwards, he remembered me telling him that Moma was the church prayer chain, it started with her when someone needed prayer and he had little prayer line cards made up in memory of her. Its the little things that they listen to and take action on that make them such a great group of people. I am at the grave alot and not once have they not waved or stopped to speak to me. I would recommend this group to anyone to take care of your loved ones, they don't come any better than CB and his crew. Thanks so much for all you all did for us during our time of grief

Please ask your family member not to die until you've made an appmnt with Katrina. Our mom passed…read morewe went to the funeral home and then to the cemetery around 12:00 and Katrina "didn't have time for us" that day. Not once was there a "sorry for your loss" or an attempt to make an excuse as to why she couldn't see us then, only a stern "i have five families ahead of you and you will have to come back tomorrow?????? There was not a single person in the office, the tomb had been purchased years ago and the tomb was already flagged. My sister had to cancel her CT scan the following day which pushed back her already scheduled surgery because Katrina was unwilling to take the time to address our needs. The next day there was still no mention of her sorrow for our loss and had we had a choice we would have walked out, but no we were at her mercy and had absolutely no choice but to sit thru her cold, hateful demeanor. In this sort of business one would think that the staff would do whatever it takes to make this sad situation as easy and painless as possible. I called and spoke with the district rep, Darlene, who apologized for Katrina on one hand but then in the next breath explained why she acted as she had. There is NO excuse and I will not ever purchase another tomb or plot from Grand View/Mtn View. We went to her office under the worst possible circumstances, was neither demanding or seeking her sympathy and was absolutely stunned with our reception. We were at a total loss. What option did we have? None. Also their prices are robbery. The tomb had already been purchased years earlier and it cost 895.00 to open and close the tomb!!!!!!! It only cost $100.00 more to dig and then cover a grave than what they charged us to remove four fasteners to open and close a tomb!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Please don't put your family thru this torture, visit another cemetery that will have a little sympathy, or at least act like they do. The Howard Family
