Fast communication, fair rates. Residential address and paid a guy who said he works with the wood guy. Very informal, but no real complaint here, just hope he got my money! read more

NEVER AGAIN. Very disappointed. Ordered 1/2 cord or SOLID OAK and received maybe 1/4 cord of SOFT WOOD. So I got screwed on both the amount (volume) and type of wood. So far everything he sold me burns like cardboard. Perhaps there is a little hardwood oak somewhere in there, but I have not encountered it yet. Per the volume issue: A cord is a 4 x 8 foot stack consisting of 4 foot long logs, but usually I get 2 foot logs making a "short cord". But the Wood Guy gave me 1 foot long sticks--HALF the volume. The stacked wood did fill my 1/2 cord holder, but I imagine the only reason he gave me enough to fill my holder is because I told him ahead of time that I had a half-court holder, so I will know if he rips me off. His "solution"? Givr me logs half the length they should be. If I never told him I had a cord holder, I fully expect he would have given me 2 foot long logs, but only enough to fill a quarter cord. I told him about the cord holder only because he said he does not stack the wood, but only dumps it on my driveway, leaving me no opportunity to see if I got screwed or not. So I only ordered a half cord, just to see if he was honest or not. Guess I will not be ordering any more wood from this dude again. Furthermore, so much of the delivery looked like the crap that is left over from a chipper or sawing other regular logs. It looked like he scraped all the scraps off his floor and padded the volume delivery with it. It is not worth calling The Wood Guy to complain. Just do not feel like dealing with this type of business again. And I will NEVER again pay for firewood until it is stacked in my cord holder. I do not mind stacking it myself, but the supplier is going to have to wait until all wood is stacked until paid. I have yet to find an honest Firewood supplier, because most buyers are unaware of what a cord of wood is, and the suppliers know it. The default of human nature is wickedness and dishonesty, and thus shows in any situation where the business finds it easy to RIP people off. Like auto repair shops--try finding an HONEST one. They are out there, for sure, but you have to really search and get ripped off a bunch of times. read more

The Wood Guy - Logs are supposed to be a minimum of TWO FEET in length. The Wood Guy gave me logs LESS THAN ONE foot in length. Ripped off. - Firewood Near Me

Only the second time I've used his services, The wood burns nicely and not as quickly as the crap you buy outside the market. I like that I can buy a wheelbarrow at a time, since I don't have room for piles of wood around my house. I definitely will use him again read more

What's there not to love about an image of two wholesome looking couple holding an axe?! That's normal, right? *see photo K idding aside, Rod (I haven't had the pleasure of meeting his wife) was soooo delightful to talk to on the phone. He knows his business with almost a decade in the business. His prices are fair and a below the average cost. And what your getting for your money is a man who has a great sense of humor, a high level of professionalism that you would expect from a 76 year old man who's still going with the vigor of a 20 year old. I wood recommend "The Wood Guy" for all my wood be needs... I give him 5 stars & an axe read more

I called Rod around 7:30 p.m. last night and explained that I needed a half a cord of mixed wood delivered and stacked. I was expecting that it might take a couple of days, and I wanted to get ahead of the impending rain. Rod and crew came out the next morning and delivered and stacked a great blend of wood types. Mostly ash, eucalyptus, oak with some pine, not much. Great price and very friendly folks! He is now in my phone for future orders. Thank you Rod and Co! read more

I would not even give him 1 star. We had wood delivered which cost us 200.00 dollars, when he delivered the wood he back into our retaining wall broke some of the blocks, preceded to pull out then back into our chain link fence bent the poll and broke the gate. So, now our wood delivery is costing us over 2100.00 dollars which he refused to fix. read more
