Many narrowboat operators are unfamiliar or non-proficient in negotiating this bend and a large proportion of them slam into it. Good things the boats go so slow. It is really hilarious entertainment, especially when the men operating the boat are trying to impress the ladies and then become embarrassed when they hit the bank and try to correct their mistake. It is really like a free comedy show and well worth a beer and some time to watch. This pub is a bit dreary on the inside but many locals like to come for Sunday lunch. read more
