Called in for a quick meal last Tuesday. Good sized pub with several rooms, one mainly for diners.
Warm welcome as I ordered a pint of their current guest beer, Wells Bitter, not often seen in this area.! One of my favourites Mushrooms in a Garlic sauce , delicious and well executed with some rustic bread and salad. Not over sauced, just the right amount. Had Pie of the Day which had decent chunks of steak, not too fatty and tender, with a good crust on top, though an underside crust was soggy and could have been left off. Both these items were on the 'two courses for £10' as I was an early bird.
I recommend this place. But maybe not quite as good as the Scotts Arms at nearby Sicklinghall which I also have reviewed. However much better than the horrendous Bingley arms at Bardsea, I reviewed also ! read more
