We spent a long time looking for the right place for her and were happy to have found this one. My Mom is 91 years old and has had frequent hospitalizations in the past 10 years and we are so grateful for the care and patience with which she has been treated for this extended period of time. She has several physical therapists and occupational therapists in both the Gardens as well as her apartment at Terracina Grand and they always work with her to build up her strength and get back to a normal way of life. She has been in a wheelchair ever since her stroke but there are always enough CNAs and Nurses who monitor her medication and get her to and from the bathroom, as well as work with her when she has problems swallowing. The food is very good particularly at the Gardens and even though it sometimes must be softened so that she can easily eat it, she is usually able to rehabilitate herself with the help of the wonderful people who attend her there. We couldn't be happier than to have a place such as The Gardens for Mom to recuperate in until she is strong enough to go back to a more independent lifestyle which is available at Terracina Grand.

After a few days, I woke up one morning with my finger swollen & inflamed, and it was pretty painful. We googled and found this walk-in clinic. With all the scary stories about Vibrio infections from swimming in sea water with an open wound, I was anxious to get treated as soon as possible. We arrived at around 9 or 9:30 AM and there was no wait. Dr Crisan saw me and prescribed Amoxicillin & Doxycyline for me immediately. She also lanced the blister that had popped up next to my fingernail & cleaned the wound. She suggested soaking my finger in water with Epsom salt a couple of times per day, which helped relieve the discomfort and encouraged faster healing. So thankful that I was able to get in and out quickly and I felt the service was very good. Would definitely come back if I ever need to see a doctor while visiting the area.

The majority of patients are Medicare or Medicaid. It was not uncommon during my stay that nurses had to scramble for working instruments to test blood pressure and glucose - more than one nurse brought her own instruments from home. At times, the ward did not have headache OTC meds, throat lozenges, tape or other basic necessities. All patient records are managed manually leading to lost orders, right record-wrong patient and other more crucial medical issues. Errors with prescriptions frequently led to unnecessary suffering while issues were resolved. Do not be misled by advertising portraying the facility as upscale with the swimming pool and all. The swimming pool area is real and clean, the rest of the facility is a dump by any measure, particularly the 200 ward, where three people in a room share a 1970's bathroom replete with broken plastic surround, missing tiles and decades of grime still evident. My roommate and I endured three days over a holiday weekend with a non-functioning toilet. I've seen water leaks in several ceilings which were repeatedly stuccoed- over without remedy to the leak. Many patients, myself included, reported respiratory problems related, possibly, to mold exposure. Ants are a big problem, especially when patients bring food into their rooms, which is against the rules. The food is competent industrial. Not great, but not too bad. Theft is a problem in detox facilities throughout the country. Clothing items get "lost" during the washing/drying process. Each of the three wards has washing machines and dryers. Patients argue about the process, jockeying for position. Violence and the threat of violence are ever present. The police were called in on several occasions during my stay. Sexual harassment and sexual activities are not uncommon although the staff is as vigilant as can be expected. What is good about the Willough is the detox. The staff will direct you through the process safely. You can count on that and that's the best I can say about the Willough. It's time for the corporation to put money back into the facility. The staff and patient population deserve a healthy environment for the services provided.

" we are busy enough in er with real emergencies" " we can't do much but tell you to see your shrink"! er can't write it up as an emergency so the patient received a $2-$3000.00 bill ! i am sure dr hamm operates similarly. he is an embarrassment to his profession. i do not know what his parents did to him but he needs help before he can help anyone else.
