Every time I walk upto the counter, he goes 'the usual?' and to find service like that, and with a smile, in London, is very rare! Unfortunately you can't actually get to Puccino's unless you're about to board a train, as you have to go through the barriers to get to the platforms! But if you're at Balham station, and you fancy a cuppa, their tea is sooooooo nice, and their service is even better :)

And because they do, I tend to buy stuff from them. So I guess it works overall. The coffee is decent and good for station coffee. The pastries are standard and nothing really to write about. But the service is friendly which is even more impressive given the number of grumpy commuters that go through there on a regular basis. Overall, props for making my day a little better to start!

The Eastern Empire doesn't allow alcohol where as the Indian room encourages drinkers. Additionally the owners and staff are really nice and don't follow that awful 'kiss your arse' service you find in many Indian restaurants. It is quite nice to sit down in a quiet un-crowded restaurant with no boisterous larger fuelled lads. I have eaten here a number of times and had takeaways and have yet to encounter a problem. Maybe the previous reviewer should give this place a second chance? I really like the food but it does take a while to arrive. There is a reason. They cook it all from scratch even boiling the rice. I am happy to wait with the knowledge that I am not being served up a re-heated or micro waived (re Bombay bicycle) curry from a weekly made batch. The mutor poneer and Bombay aloo hot potato are really good and my favourite main is the lamb razella. I agree that it is a mistake to charge for chutney et al.

I love the large windows in the front overlooking a glamorous view of an asphalt trail and a rainbow of ethnicities passing by as they peer from the other side observing my drooling smile as I take the first bite into my yummy avocado toast.
