For those with many House Guests - Helen's Laundry service is a game-changer. For years, I have…read morelived in a lake house near Helen's business where guests and family love to come to hang out. However, once the visit ends, the large piles of the used towels, sheets, blankets, etc. quickly turn the fun of the weekend into a distant memory. That happened until I found that Helen's Laundromat will pick it all up from my doorstep on Mondays and deliver it back to me all neatly folded, stacked and wrapped to prevent wetness. There is no additional charge for the pickup and delivery. Booking the pickup via text is super easy; then an automated appointment is created to remind me. I also get a confirmation once delivered or a phone call if there is a question. Helen's service sends me an online bill that is easy to pay, so I don't have to be there for the delivery. The cost to me is very reasonable in comparison to the personal hours I would spend catching up and the hit to my utility bills for extra washing and drying. We don't use the service every week, which seems fine with Helen, who is gracious whenever I need her. One day I may learn to fold as well as her staff, but till then Helen's Laundry is on my weekend "friends" list.

Clothes Quarters does accept quarters. They also use an app and while I appreciate "winning the jackpot" as I convert at $10 to quarters, I'd much rather use an app so that I'm not filling my coin holder with extra coins. The app was easy to register and use on the washer but they don't use it for dryers. I though I was stuck losing $15 in credit. Not to worry - I sent an email inside the app requesting a refund and it was processed within a day or two. The laundromat is clean and tidy. There is free wifi and there are places to sit while you watch your clothes go round and round. They do sell detergent but I had stopped at the Dollar Tree up the street for a big bottle. If you choose to do your own, there are a variety of sizes of machines available, and they use a prepaid card system rather than coins. Bring some bills, insert them in the machine and you get a card which you then swipe in the washer and try to start the machines. Betty keeps the place clean, and she's vigilant to make sure the machines are in good working condition. The Bucket of Suds is open every day from 5am thru 11pm, and the doors lock automatically at that point.
