Haven in a haven,
Amble along Leicester's most picturesque and peaceful road (or pedestrianised promenade) and you'll hap across the White Peacock. Softly lit, linen tablecloth affair, offering a menu from which I would have happily ordered 5 of the 6 starters and any of the mains. Monday and Tuesday you can pick up 3 courses for twenty five quid. Along with this a wine list with many great choices under a score and a beetroot margarita that made me feel godly. If I lived in Leicester I would be on first name terms with every staff member, especially the assistant manager, who was incredibly charming, and a joy to talk to.
Honest to god I have no affiliation with the restaurant (today was our first visit) but I really can't say a word against it. read more
