I have been with Lorraine for almost a month now and can safely say that she has completely changed my life and point of view on food. She provides such a comfortable and safe environment to talk about not just food, but my cognitive and mental outlook on my life. Upon my consultation, she made sure to note all aspects of my health and past eating habits, and created a delicious customized meal plan based on my preferences, as I am primarily plant based. These plans also integrate meal prep into them, which has reduced my snacking tendencies, as I can just grab my prepped meals from the fridge. I have fallen in love with cooking at home again and get excited about each meal as they are all so diverse and completely satiate me. It's crazy how quickly my taste preferences have changed and crave her recipes. The 3-month plan I opted for includes weekly check-ins, where Lorraine doesn't mention calories or weight every time, but more of how I am feeling mentally based on the foods I am eating. She is also sure to educate me on certain foods to avoid or gravitate towards which can positively affect my lifestyle. I explained my goals to her and she asked me about two dozen thorough questions, took notes, and gave recommendations to me. She emailed me everything we talked about so I had a quick reference always handy. I felt at ease with her and like I could pick her brain for whatever info I needed. For my very first visit with a nutritionist, I'm really happy and am looking forward to visiting her again. FYI, in her office, there are also a massage therapist, an acupuncturist, and a psychologist. So it's a very mind, body, and soul type of place.

I wish the location was a little closer to my job, but I don't mind the travel since she is exactly the kind of Nutritionist I have been looking for. So far so good. I will see how things progresses with her. But first impression and first session I am very pleased with her.

I had tried a wide range of workouts (and enjoyed them), and had a personal trainer for a short stint. While all of that was helpful, what really mattered in the end was better nutrition. Jennifer not only helped me understand how important it was to eat better, but she helped me take the first 10 steps towards that lifestyle. Given my hectic work schedule, it was easy to slip into old habits. I loved working with Jennifer because she combines a passion for better food with the perfect temperament to be a really effective coach. Jennifer provided small, achievable steps (easy healthy meal prep ideas, better options when I had work dinners, impromptu words of encouragement, feedback on recipes). She was approachable and knowledgeable at the same time - someone I felt like I could ping with questions about ingredients and different food options without guilt (I'm posting some photos of her recipes I've grown to love). Since I saw so many positive reviews I thought I made a good choice but wow was I wrong ! I went to Ny Nutrition group because I needed help with learning to eat healthy again .I looked through their website and read through all the services. Quoted from the site " the dietitian will design a customized and personalized nutrition plan and meal plan service that fits your unique needs and goals. This can include a structured menu, goal setting, shopping list, recipes, exercise tips, supplement recommendations'' photos will be attached. It looked good so I reached out and booked a session with them.My intention was to get a customized meal plan I could follow. I don't know what to eat, proper portions, and that is why I wanted a meal plan. Quick update: I just checked their website & since my talk with the owner Lisa, they changed it. Luckly I screenshot their website before the change, attached will be the one I saw originally & the 2nd one is the one they updated these last few days Oct 5- 1st session with dietitian Stephany. After sharing my history, goals, struggles, etc., she pulled up some recipes from the internet that looked good. I asked if I will be getting a shopping list with my meal plan . She said she usually expects her clients to do that. After some back and fourth I stated that I could have just found my own recipes online and not come to a nutritionist if that was the case. She seemed annoyed and stated fine she'll do that for me. Oct 6 - I emailed Ny nutrition group & told them even though Stephanys a nice person I did not want to continue to work with her. Among the reasons, I didn't like feeling like I was forcing her to do something she did not want to do, create meal plans & shopping list. I went there specifically for a detailed meal plan with shopping list. I spoke with Ny Nutrition & I explained my needs again. I asked if that would be a problem. Once I clarified the help I was looking for they recommended others who would be a better fit for me. (images of emails will be attached) I booked a session with Kylie Gearhart MS, RD-AP, CDN, CNSC for Oct 28 Oct 28 - I met with Kylie Gearhart that evening. During our hour session I again shared history, goals, struggles etc, we discussed food options, what are my food preferences etc, I asked about the meal plans/ shopping list , I stated I wanted a week - long meal plan She told me she did not provide meal plans or shopping lists. I frustratedly told her that is why I was there. She told me that was not part of her job and that they do not pay her to go home and write nutrition plans etc . I snapped back and said that it was literally mentioned on the website as services provided. She pulled up the website because she thought she was going to prove me wrong. Instead she said "oh huh it does say that, well I'm going to talk to them about it''. She begrudgingly agrees to create one for me and added that because she was going away for the weekend, she would try and get it done before she leaves. Kylie Gearhart made it seem like she was doing me a favor, but how!? Thats what I thought I was paying for . I was stunned by her unprofessional behavior. If I had been told that they do not provide this, I would not have wasted my time with another session (It takes me two hours of travel time roundtrip each session). However, I communicated my needs via email and was given the green light, so I was confused and frustrated by the fact that I had to argue about their services. Oct- 29 The following day I got 3 calls back-to-back . When I checked my messages, it was Lisa Moskovitz the owner she left 2 voicemails She explained that she was calling about my session yesterday, and that she wanted to make sure we are all on the same page and wanted to discuss my request. Her 2nd message stated that she wants to know what my needs are because they are unclear This left me stunned.. I communicated my needs with them 3 times already ! When I was able to call Lisa back she states she wants to know what it was I was looking for, what were my needs.She then goes on to tell me what Kylie told her. Then instead of allowing me again to say what my needs were, she goes on to tell me that what I am looking for they don't provide. Then she states that the services I am looking for they do provide but actually cost more money. Once I realized she wasn't really calling me to ask me anything, she was just trying to put me in my place (!?) I got angry and started crying out of frustration. I told her I would call her back. This felt unreal, how was there an issue if all I went to them for was what it stated on their website. Their behavior made me question if I was wrong. Was I being difficult? Was I being unreasonable? Was it me being a pain in the a**? review continued in pic

Lauren's group and this step by step process is not about diet or weight loss, so forget those expectations. This group/process is all about learning to live side by side with food without acrimony. This class/process is amazing and will really make you challenge your ideas about food, nutrition, exercise and yourself. Is it hard? Sometimes. Will you cry? Sometimes. Will you feel supported? Always. Are you expected to know it all on day one? Not a chance. Lauren is kind, intelligent, understanding, informative and definitely your best coach. The others in the group back her up and bring other viewpoints and experiences to the table. I'm sorry that tomorrow is my last group call. Don't just think about doing this, do it! It will be the best gift you've ever given yourself.

Lauren meets you exactly where you are with no judgement whatsoever. She listens, she is genuine, she cares, and she is an amazing cheerleader and coach.
