With his recommendations, I ended up taking home a few My Father, Oliva Serie V Melanio, and Arturo Fuente cigars. It wasn't a sales pitch--it was just a great conversation between cigar enthusiasts. But I enjoy shopping here when I am in the 24th Street area. It's an alternative to Walmart. The fruits and vegetables are fresh and plentiful. There is a bakery and they sell the pumpernickel-rye swirl bread which is no longer available at Walmart. However, I found the Kroger brand of coffee to be too mild. I tried two "rich" blends with the same results. The Kroger brand of tissues is good and the box contains more tissues than the Kleenex brand. The pharmacy area is plentiful with shampoos and other necessities. The Fry's V.I.P. card provides discounts on some items, but the savings is not very much on singular items. However, senior citizens can get an extra 10-percent off most items on the first Wednesday of the month. The 24th Street store is never overly crowded (not in the mornings). It is nice to shop in a supermarket which is just a basic supermarket -- I do not get distracted by clothing or other temptations such as in Walmart. I just buy my food and go home.
