Stopped in to get some supplements and had a pretty good experience. Staff was really helpful (but not pushy in the slightest) and they had a pretty nice selection. Got some Nuun electrolyte boosters, some vitamins, and a few other small things. Got a bonus protein bar as a sample as well! Getting in and out of the parking lot can be something of a bear thanks to the craziness that is Washtenaw but the selection is worth the headache. read more

I needed some refrigerated probiotics, I did my homemork and wanted a particular brand as well. This place came up in a search of where to get them. Apparently it is only carried here. Swung by on the way home from work. Easy in and out. Not hard at all to find what I was looking for. I was rung up quickly and was done in a flash. Two minutes of my time and bonus, they were on sale! The guy running the register was friendly but not pushing other products on me. He offered up a flyer of sales and left it at that. I heard him answering questions for another customer as I left. As a non health food supplement store type (although I seem to keep needing various vitamin/supplement type products- hello cherry juice), I appreciated the hands off approach here. Obviously had I needed help I could have gotten it, but seeing I was in veni vidi vici mode I was helped to my level of need. Happiness. I love stores that know when you need attention and assistance and likewise are hands off when you are in a rush. read more

I've been making an extra effort to only shop at locally owned businesses, however I stopped by The Vitamin Shoppe over my lunch break out of sheer convenience and FELL IN LOVE with the staff! I walked in with an idea of what I wanted, but had a bazillion questions, and I hate to say this - I assumed the staff would be a bunch of unknowledgeable, apathetic stinkers. I have run into those types of staff members at the larger chains and have found them to be pretty lame. Not at the A2 Vitamin Shoppe! I walked in and asked one of the floor staff where something was and he walked me over to the section and was a wealth of information. As we walked together to the cash register, I noticed that he was the manager. His name was Al and he was a total sweetheart. I looked around and noticed other "team members" very much involved with the clientele and felt a very cool vibe coming from the place. I rarely ever sign up to be on any sort of list in terms of store promotions, but I found myself giving "Al" my email address and actually looking forward to receiving the stuff I usually disregard as Spam. It's a great spot in town and I highly recommend it, as long as they continue to educate the staff and push outstanding customer service. read more

Tyler, the manager, was unhelpful. I placed an order online for store pickup. This store was the only one that had Vitamin C. I received an email reminding me to pick up the order in 2 days, on Tuesday, 4/21. The body of the email stated make sure you pick up your order by 4/26. When I called the store today, Tyler said he returned my entire order to the shelves. I told him about my email and couldn't he understand my confusion. He said he didn't send the email. I said I knew that, but aren't you going to help me? I want my items. He said he couldn't do anything once the items were returned to the shelves. I asked if that was really all he was going to do? I said whether or not you sent the email, it's from your company. He said there was nothing he could do. He didn't try anything. He didn't apologize for the mixup. I asked for a manager and he said he was the manager. I ended the call by saying thanks for nothing and he said you're welcome. read more

I legitimately stopped going to this store and going to GNC because of the fat guy with the beard. Dude has zero clue what he's talking about and is relentlessly pushy about purchasing what he wants you to. Last time I checked, it's a supplement store not a dieting consultation service. read more

I too try to support locally owned businesses as much as possible and have shopped at the vitamin shoppe several times over the past couple of years. Every time I have been in there I have found the staff knowledgeable and helpful. Not a chain experience at all. My only complaint is the location. I would probably stop in there more often, but I hate the traffic in that area. I try to go there during low traffic times. read more
