Sorry not sorry about this but it needs to be said. This is what you can expect from Frisco's most luxurious apartments.....
MAINTENANCE
They might acknowledge your request, but not likely. It doesn't seem to matter what level of urgency you're dealing with. A bulb being out is given the same priority as a kitchen full of dirty water due to a busted pipe.
If you really need someone who works here to help out, you can always find them smoking by the dumpster - which you'll be visiting often since the "valet trash" collectors refuse to touch anything unless its wrapped in gold foil and engraved. 5 lbs? Too heavy. You happened to throw away a small piece of cardboard? Nope.
We don't even try anymore. It's not worth the passive aggressive notes they leave.
SAFETY
I accidentally touched a screw that was sticking out of the wall and it immediately electrocuted me, shut the whole place's power off, and created such a jolt that it caused the light fixture above me to come crashing down on my head.
Luckily, the power randomly shutting off in our apt is not abnormal, so I knew to go outside and wade through the mud to get to the breaker panel on the building's side.
Fire hazards abound. There is no fire extinguisher anywhere and they aren't going to change that for you. The smoke alarms are daisy chained but erratic, but that isn't the best part. The sprinkler heads all over the apartment are actually not tied to that system. They are in fact made so that if they're tapped and the glass breaks on one of them, your entire house is flooded immediately.
The lint trap is broken and so maintenance said "here you go" and flipped the screen around the wrong way, jammed it in and said "you could get a hanger if you wanted to and dig the lint out."
UPKEEP
When we did touch ups on the paint in our apt, after a month of asking every day if we could please have some paint so it matched, we realized that what they'd given us was a TOTALLY different color than the walls. So we had to go and buy a bunch of our own to fix the situation and they've still never come to remedy the issue - we aren't repainting the entire place.
The floor is always dirty-- no matter how many times you clean it. Your feet will turn black immediately if you walk on it barefoot. This will never change. Not with soap or time or magic or dreams.
It rains inside. The windows are fair game for showers without warning. It's "been fixed" 4 times.
None of the windows will stay open and if you try to open them they act like a guillotine.
EVERY morning you will wake to the sounds of a man blowing leaves all over all the cars in the parking lot. He even blows them into my open garage when I'm standing right inside of it. It's unbelievable.
AMENITIES
The pool is shallow and so always luke warm and never clean. Groups of seedy looking guys hang out on the tennis court all day every day and leer at anyone who comes by. Similarly the gym is popular with people not working out...just creeping all hours of the night.
If you lie in the sun by the hot pool, you'll enjoy the view of fully dressed men sleeping throughout the day on the deck chairs - they wake up and stare at you often.
COST
As slow as they are to handle things that are important, they are quick with the late fees if you should ever have a tough month.
We are currently paying $2700 for a 3 bedroom. Our electric bill is almost always above $300 and we can't do anything about it because its improperly sub metered.
You can live here 10 years without having a late payment, but you miss one day due to unforseen circumstance, and they tack on late fee after late fee every single day without any relenting even when begged to please have mercy so you can catch up with them.
The unforseen situation for me was that a rat had built a home inside my car and eaten the electrical system while the car was parked outside my apartment.
This place used to be pretty decent, but for the money - you can get electrocuted, rained on, burned up in a fire, ignored by management, harassed for money, and leered at while a rat eats your car somewhere much much better. read more
