Since the facility was sold it is nearly impossible to talk to management. They are all remote employees. It used to be a place that cared about the facility, clients and their families. Now? It's all about money. Very frustrating. read more

Augsburg used to be a wonderful facility before new ownership. If you have a loved one and place them here be sure you can allocate enough time to keep after the operations staff to do what needs to be done. There is no concern from the operations staff once they have your money. My Mother lost heat in her apartment and there has been no concern or response about any repair. If you can please do not place your aged loved one here. It is very sad to see a place that used to be so caring and wonderful with the residents now have such disregard for the people who pay their salaries. read more

I've had several family members use Augsburg Assisted Living and LOVED IT. Not so much any more. Post-COVID, there has been a HUGE and ongoing turn-over of staff. The rate has gone up and the service has gone down... way down. 3 hots and a cot is about all the services I can see (but paying for much more.) AND DON'T GET ME STARTED ABOUT RESPONSIVENESS. My family might as well be invisible! None of our communications get a response. Am I the only one being ignored. If you want a place where your loved one will be safe and have nice meals, Augsburg is the place. It really is sad that they are having problems. They USED TO be so good. read more

Living at Augsburg for the last 4 years has been a wonderful experience. People are really kind and friendly and it just feels like home. There is a lot of laughter and greetings when I walk down the halls past doors that open to really amazing apartments - It's community. I'm excited about our new food plan that is now in place and am patiently waiting for the completion of the new bistro and the welcoming entrance into our main building. No doubt it's a good place to visit, but the very best place to live. read more

It is a nice place, but don't expect to get that deposit refund back any time soon if your family member dies. I work with elderly clients and their families, and one client of mine has been trying to get that refund for two years--and they just ignore him. We are going to have to file a lawsuit to actually get it. I have never had such trouble getting a refund back from any other place. read more

The Village at Augsburg is in a quiet community with lots of space to walk around the well kept property. It enables the residents to get exercise and enjoy sunshine in a safe environment. My sister has been able to make a smooth transition from her home of many years to an apartment in Independent Living. She is treated by the staff with courtesy and respect; and she is made to feel as though she is part of their "family" . During the pandemic, my sister stayed safe due to all the protocols that Augsburg put in place. I think the staff went beyond the call of duty to stay engaged with residents and to provide enjoyable outlets, safely, during that difficult time. I personally really appreciate how they keep me informed about any issues that develop and the actions they have taken or plan to take. read more

My mother spent the last 6 months of her life at Augsburg. Absolutely the best run nursing home in Baltimore County. (Mother was at another one on Stevenson Lane in Towson that was a complete nightmare). The management (Marc and Michael), the nurses on 2, all the way to the housekeeper Juanita (who treated Mom amazingly)...they treated Mom with the utmost respect...her favorite was Deebo who she lovingly called Zeebo. I would whole-heartedly recommend Augsburg to anyone for their loved ones. read more

My parents spent their final 4 1/2 years at Augsburg and we couldn't have made a better choice. Besides being a lovely facility and reasonably priced the care they received was everything we had hoped for. The staff at every level was so loving and attentive, but especially the angels that took care of them in the nursing level who really gave us peace of mind. This is the aspect you just can't know 100% ahead of time, and you WILL need, as elderly people often have frequent hospitalizations, followed by rehab (sub-acute care) in the nursing level, even if they are basically living independently in an apartment. My parents thrived whenever they needed some time in nursing, and they were able to visit each other daily whenever one needed a rehab stay even though they were both wheelchair bound, because the entire facility is under one roof. We were so fortunate that when my dad needed a place to spend his final hours he was "home at Augsburg" with a loving staff that he knew. read more
