This place was overall much smaller than I expected though. We soaked for over and hour or so and then got ready for our dinner reservations and dinner was really great! It was about $150 for four of us to eat up there in USD. We grabbed some ice cream bars from downstairs as well for dessert. I liked this place and one night was enough. We arrived around 4:30pm, had dinner at 7pm and were in bed by 9pm. The next morning was a soak and then get ready and go. Great trip and lovely customer service.

It is quiet and tranquil with a gorgeous view of Kootenay Lake. There is a BBQ which can be used by guests in the outdoor common dining area on the upper level. There is a small play area with swings and a tree house. Adirondack chairs are scattered around, mostly towards the direction of the lake. The suites are mostly 1 and 2 bedrooms and they are spacious, with a living room (sofa bed) and small kitchen. The rooms are clean and each one have a different look. It is definitely not a cookie cutter,nondescript room. It is family run and the owners are friendly and ready with suggestions on dining places and activities. It is just 10-15 minutes drive away from downtown Nelson, so it is quite convenient to get around. It is also near Ainsworth Hot Springs and Kokanee Glacier Provincial Park. I will stay here again if I am ever in Nelson.

The chicken strips were high quality (no chewy bits) and a load of fries came with. My wife chose the plum dipping sauce and it was awesome. I had the Rueben and it was piled high and the condiments on it made it even better. It also came with a pile of fries. This was an excellent meal. The restaurant, or lounge as they refer to it , was large and there is plenty of room for gear if riding. Service was friendly and drinks were always kept refreshed.

One of the worst stays ever…read more The only thing that is accurate on their website is the view. We arrived on July 1 and there is no one at reception. We had to pick up our key at the lockbox that is located outside the office. The room #305 had a very strong musty smell to it like it hadn't been aired out in ages. The room was substantially smaller than a regular hotel room that we had the previous evening. There is no phone in the room There is no area in which you could comfortably hook up a computer. We ended up moving things around and hooking up the computer on the very small desk where the coffee maker was. There is no ice. We were given instructions to use the freezer on the second level but the freezer was open and completely empty. No complimentary golf. We wouldn't know where to go anyway since there were no staff available. The bed is so close to the wall - maybe about 1 ft. from the bed to the wall so that when I needed to go to the washroom at night I had to crawl to the end of the bed in order to get out of bed. We expected that many of the item and services would not be available because of covid - no spa, no breakfast buffet etc. but we did not expect to have a rundown room that obviously needs attention and renovations. We paid the less to stay at another resort during our staycation and we had a beautiful 1 bedroom suite with a separate bedroom, tvs in both the living room and bedroom, a kitchenette and washer and dryer. We could get ice from the refrigerator that was in the room. They also had a lobby area that was staffed and friendly service from said staff. We had a mountain view. I absolutely would not recommend this resort and I certainly would never stay here again myself.

We (two seniors & daughter) landed in Nakusp during a road trip and required a one-night stay. We…read moredid not wish to lodge in one of the typical motel-type settings we saw in town, so toured around the outskirts a little, and found this property had their 'vacancy' sign lighted. After stopping in, and checking out a 'larger' room the Manager suggested, we decided to go for it. Some initial concerns with our decision, but they were quickly dispelled once we got settled in. Our room was rather large, with two queen-sized beds, small fridge, microwave oven, table & chairs, and etc. With the wood walls, et al, it looked much like the inside of a cabin. It "grew on us", and became quite "warm & friendly". We picked up some foodstuffs in town at the local supermarket for our dinner that evening (chicken, salads, garlic bread, and etc.), plus, visited a couple of craft shops (fun, and friendly - and some lovely offerings), and checked out the walkway along the lake in front of some of the beautiful lakeside homes (= gorgeous!!). Then dined outside, on a small patio in front of our room. With the gardens & forest setting, sunshine & warmth, food and drink ... we loved it!! A good sleep, breakfast in our room, and then it was on to Ainsworth Hot Springs the next morning -- with fond memories of our stay in Nakusp!!

Looks like a century got transposed. The bar is fun, with locals and tourists mixing and pool, foozball,etc...Truthfully, the charming exterior belies the mundane experience on the interior. But its a nice little stop on a long travelled road.
