It's somwhat shocking how much waste we accumulate that now does not have to go into a landfill. Collective makes it easy. This is such a great company with a great cause. Also, their customer service is so fast and helpful. They are extremely accommodating for rescheduling pick-ups if you are out of town, etc. as long as you give them a day's notice. I really love this service! This is among the most satisfying decisions we've made. We send half as many bags to the landfill. We feel smart and a little bit virtuous every day. Our yard and garden are too modest for onsite composting, so CRC is the ideal solution. Comes out for us to about $20/month. Very small price to pay to feel like part of the solution. read more

Small landlord here... I do the maintenance, and dealing with food waste in dumpsters is disgusting. Everyone does the usual; cleaning up is someone else's job, and the dumpster was a vile mess of rotting food stuck to the dumpster walls, rats, squirrels (rats that live in trees), and coyotes ransack the thing and turn the alley into a total mess. Then, Collective Resource... No more nasty dumpster that I have to wash out, no more rats/squirrels/coyotes, no stink and flies, etc. It's also the perfect place for those pizza boxes and general waster paper that filled up the toter every day. We love collective resource and have been using them for sale for years now. They have a number of pick up options, and our family of four usually fills the 5 gallon bucket in about two weeks time. The buckets are secure enough that you can set them outside the night before your scheduled pick up without any trouble from raccoons or opossums. I speak from experience because we had an opossum living under our front steps and it never try to get into the bin. read more

If you have food scraps you need to have Collective Resource pick them up and help you help save the planet. They make doing something important so easy and charge a minimal amount to help you do what's right. They're nice and responsive all the time. We keep our bucket(s) right outside our door making it simple to empty our counter-top can when needed. We even empty our plates directly when it's bug stuff like watermelon rinds or chicken bones.
