The praise team will definitely get your heart going with almost a concert like style and professional put together show. You can sing along with them as the words are on the big screen. Only sad part is you never get to hear any older songs like Amazing Grace. Maybe one day they will give a update to that song so it can be played by a 5 piece band and praise team. The church has many group classes of all ages for Bible study. Has a ball field and play park for kids. They have a great website or app for your phone too. Service can be seen live on the app at 10:00am Sunday. If you are looking around you can check them out online before you go in person if you like. Just download the Olkwood app with the black and white cross. This is a rather large church but you will feel welcome in right away and with the smaller groups it can remind you of a smaller church at times.

Average Sunday morning attendance ranges close to 1000 and the parking lot spills over into nearby commercial parking lots. Clearly, Dr. Sampson and his congregation are very fundamental and old fashioned in their beliefs. In this part of the country , old fashioned preaching pulls the largest crowds. The pastor and his staff use modern technology to get out their message and their web site is one of the best in the area. The trouble for this listener; is that very little is said that has relevance for our modern life. But the congregation doesn't seem to want anything different than what they are getting, so if you want a message set in the 1940's and 50's and you don't mind taking a little extra effort to find a parking spot and don't mind sitting shoulder to shoulder inside then you will find a nice spiritual home at Parkway.

I hadn't been to church in quite a while. I decided it was time to start looking for one because it would probably take me a long time to find a good one. Kelly and Jessica just came up to me while I was getting out of the rain. They invited me back and told me about the church member services they offer as well as information about the church. Now, the car show they were having was out in the parking lot and I enjoyed seeing the cars. I even talked to some of the owners who were sociable. In regret, the fireworks show was cancelled because of rain but they took my number and promised to call me when rescheduled. The church also was selling food plates for only one dollar. I would have tried it if it wasn't for me just eating dinner at Champys. But, it looked like a good deal with hot dogs, chips and etc. In summary, this is a southern baptist church and I want to come back and visit not only for morning worship but for other reasons. There is some history to be discovered here that will prove quiet interesting.
