Then every one would carry on as normal as if you didn't exsit In the summer on can sit outside and watch the world go by although in Blundeston there is very little happening apart from the No 29 bus which runs every 45 minutes. The village is a quiet place, there may be the odd dog walker pass by and stop for a natter. But the Red Lion is the centre of business and night life in this sleepy village where one can enjoy a drink in the old fashioned way B

They have two menus - a full menu which is available lunchtimes and evenings and a 'lite bites' menu which I think is available only at lunchtimes. One really good thing about the full menu is that instead if offering the normal kids meals (sausage and chips, chicken nuggets and chips etc.) they actually offer all of the adult meals in 'piglet portions' at half the price of the adult meals. The food, the wine and the service is all excellent! In the summer there is a lovely outdoor are with huge bench tables under huge parasols and individual tables aswell. I have eaten there many times and will continue to do so. They also have a private dining room 'The Piggery' which can be used for large groups - I haven't actually been in there but I assume that it is of the same high standard as the restaurant, bar and garden.

We told him what we would have liked for lunch and he said he would oblige, it would just take a few extra minutes. I have very rarly had such good service. However, it is very nicely presented and tastes great too. Desserts where very good also. Chef said hello as he passed through and asked if the food was OK. Also they are child friendly. I would say the only niggles we had is they wouldn't serve a glass of milk and we had problems paying by card because of a faulty terminal. And rather than trying to sort it out or using a back up system we had to pay cash. No idea what would have happened if we hadn't the cash!! Highly recommended though.

Here you can try out some fine beers from local breweries with strange names like Broadsword which is quite strong. The meals are very good and enjoyable plus they have quite a selection to choose from and there is always a vegetarian option. This place gets quite busy at the weekends though so if your think of eating here book early. A good place to enjoy a meal and quite reasonable priced as well.
