I placed my order on May 28, 2025. The package was shipped on December 11 (6 1/2 months later!), and arrived about in about a week. This timing made it difficult to plant anything in the ground. The seedling trees arrived looking pretty healthy, but the guarantee specifically says it is void if you do not plant the bareroot plants in the ground. I did my best with the gallon pots I had, using a blend of native and purchased soils, and put all outside in a sheltered location with plenty of light. Of the 15 trees and shrubs I ordered, only 2 are leafing out in mid April. I'm still watering the rest to see if any might still be trying to live, but I've pretty much lost hope. So - $170 for two living plants. NOT a good deal. By shipping so late in the year, they pretty much guaranteed failure for me. If the plants had been shipped even two weeks earlier, I could have planted everything in the ground. I'm very disappointed with this company, their products, and their "warranty." read more

My complaint is similar to the negative reviews I've read below. Apparently this business doesn't care about its customers. I too had a $300 loquat tree that I purchased and 3 months later the tree was nothing but dry sticks. I called the store and the owner told me to email photos. I emailed twice and several months later I have yet to hear from anyone. read more

I purchased 6 young trees from the Tree Store, for almost $100. Not a single one survived. To be clear, I am an extremely experienced gardener, the trees were planted in a growing zone and in conditions under which they should have thrived. Under New Ownership! Met with the new owner to pick out some trees. He's been in business at another location for years. Seems very conscientious and knowledgeable. I got 5 trees. 3 came up. 2 didn't. The warranty requires you to hang on to the paperwork "Please email a picture of the prep, planting and care instructions that displays the handwritten control number with the replacement claim form portion of the document completed" I wasn't able to get my 2 trees that didn't come up Replaced as a result. I don't do business with companies that don't help me replace dead plants in an easy manner. This should not be so difficult. Arbor Day and every other company just has me send a pic of what's going on and I get replacements. I can't recommend this company. read more

They have great trees at outstanding prices. It is so nice to be able to get a tree does it big enough to look mature and not have to wait for 10 years. We worked with Scott and he could not be any nicer. We have bought from them twice (trees) and will probably go again for pots. I love how they give you very specific directions for cari g for your new trees. And Marc gives his direct number to call if you are not 100% satisfied. read more

I purchased 2 Solanum potato trees 2 years ago. They looked great in the garden center and I was assured they would thrive in full sun . 2 months after being planted, the leaves began to fall off. I called periodically over the next 6 to 7 months and was told someone would come look at them. That never happened!!! No one ever came to my house although she claimed she did, No one knocked on my door And addressed the problem. Terrible customer service after they took my $1500!!! Now, I have 2 dead trees. Worse customer service ever!!! I will be contacting the BBB to inform them of this. read more

Outstanding group of folks at The Tree Store in Port Charlotte. Marc took great care of us from start to finish. We walked the nursery, and were able to pick out the plants and trees that we wanted. He designed a beautiful landscape piece for us, and his team led by Foreman Roy, had the image come to life within a week. We are very pleased with the service we received, and will certainly recommend them to everyone. Our entire family is extremely happy with the finished project, and we will no doubt use them in the future. We were instructed in proper watering and fertilizing procedures. Purchased a $250.00 tree and this place planted it for us. Tree never thrived. called owner and was stood up three times for him to visit my home to look at tree. Three times stood up. Our Arborist just looked at tree, stated tree planted wrong and root system has girdled, due to being in too small a bucket at Nursery for too long. Tree is not thriving, root system shot, tree planted too deep and my husband and I have been stood up three times being told this owner would come out to look at tree. Arborist said we got ripped off. No doubt. read more

Liars and cheats. Spent almost 4 grand 1st cardboard palm is half dead. 2nd 300$ potato tree half dead. 3rd many flowering plants dead, which they said they would replace. They never did after talking to them several times. 4th Mexican petunias won't even stand. Nice to your face while lying to it. read more

Our review is much like most of the others, we spent $275.00 for a maple tree which they planted. We followed the instructions for wartering even purchasing watering bags to insure it had plenty of water. After 2 months it did not look healthy and the leaves started falling off,so we took a ride to explain what was going on to the person who sold us the tree. He assured us this was normal and just keep doing what we were doing. Well the tree died and now they claim that we did not water it properly and they are NOT responsible!! Wow, what a fabulous nursery and great group of guys. They delivered my trees and bushes, planted them and left the area pristine. So rare to find landscapers who will go the extra mile to make it look great. This is a five star business and I am thrilled to have found they are willing to come to Punta Gorda. Bought two trees there last weekend. They called and told us it was going to be $48.00 more than what we paid because the trees need to have supports. They did not tell us this when we bought the trees! We cancelled the order and when we did they charged us a #30.00 fee for what they said was the cost the credit card company would charge them? Very bad idea to do business with them! read more

We purchased a Bismarck Palm the several months before it was to be planted and we returned to Canada. We chose a specimen that we felt was outstanding for the price and were told prices would be up later in the year which was the reason for proceeding at that time. We were phoned at our residence in Canada and told the tree would be planted the next day. I wondered if it might be better to plant the tree when we were present in about two weeks. When we arrived in Venice, we paid the store a visit to arrange a date but couldn't find the tree that we had chosen nor was any palm marked with our name. We had no choice but to select another Bismarck which was not near thee quality of the original. When we tried to make an appointment we were told they were too busy and would call when they had enough business in the area to pay for their trip from Port Charlotte. After a few more calls and promises, my husband reminded the annoyed person at the other end of the line that we had paid an extra $50.00 to make a special trip to Venice. It was finally planted the following week but the palm was not the same palm chosen for the second time. This palm was much smaller and comparable to those at Home Depot. By the way, the price had not changed. So not only did we pay extra for a special trip which did not occur, we did not receive the palm we had first selected but received an inferior product in its place at the same price as the previous year. The only positive comments I can make is that Tim was courteous and the planters were very helpful. Unfortunately, the business practices were not of the same standards. read more
