Their quote was totally reasonable for a full day job that involved cutting down and removing 7 large trees and 2 small ones (with stump grinding for 4 that were between the sidewalk and street, thus preventing a tripping hazard near the sidewalk) in addition to pruning several large Japanese Sawara trees, one very large Magnolia and two large spruce/pines. The crew and foreman were skilled and friendly, professional and polite. When they were done, they made sure to clean up completely. So: A+ for the tree work itself. The front office was also excellent. They promptly emailed me a professional contract (meaning: itemized and complete), and they responded immediately to my request for their Proof of Insurance documentation. I mention these Front Office things because not every tree company does them, even if they may do good tree work, and it's nice to have everything totally clear and written down. Prevents hassles and disagreements afterward. At the signing of the contract, Aspen gave me an accurate wait time based on how busy they were. Five stars for Aspen Tree Expert Co. They are not only certified arborists but also a beautifully run business.

This year his team of workers did a great job of lopping down a massive tree from our backyard who's giant branches were smashing down on my lawn furniture. They arrived on time, picked up after the job, left the interior space clean of any tree related flotsam. His team were kind enough to clean off the wood debris off the cars parked in the street (created by their wood chipper) and even swept the street and surrounding sidewalks of any wood, branches and the like. Be careful when dealing with Picture Perfect! We chose this company to do two handyman projects -…read moreremove a small section of chain link fence and repair a shed. When Joel, the Picture Perfect rep, was here we had shown him the shed, which needed extensive exterior work including new shingles, door repair, and paint. He didn't write anything down while he was discussing this project but we thought he knew what we wanted. The description on the proposal we received read "Repair shed, remove rotted wood and dump. Replace with same material, outdoor bead board and paint. Install gravel, fabric, slate stepping stones in the front of the door". As you can see in the picture what they actually did was work on the front of the shed and put the slate stepping stones. The roof is the worst part of our shed and what we wanted repaired most of all. We also wanted the whole shed painted. Picture Perfect did not paint the sides or back walls of the shed and not touch the shingles at all despite us having discussed it. We now need to hire someone else to finish the repair. Initially we considered using Picture Perfect to put new landscaping in the front of the house. The landscaping proposal was VERY general (e.g. 20 perennials, 4 fill plants) with no way to visualize the final product. We requested a sketch and Picture Perfect agreed....but they never provided anything. We made the decision not to use Picture Perfect for the landscaping. I've learned a few hard (and expensive) lessons dealing with these folks. Make sure the quote you are getting is super detailed, don't assume, like us, that what you discussed is being done if it is not there exactly. Tie them down to a date unless you don't care when the work gets done. Be ready to be on them constantly for updates as they are never going to communicate to you on their own.
