We spent some time in The Texas Silver Rush during a visit to Fredericksburg. Chatted with the owner off and on while we were there. He is very knowledgeable about the different kinds of turquoise and other materials used in making his jewelry. Nice and wide selection, from small to large pieces, the overall quality is very good. It's a fun place to meander through and check out the inventory. They sell a lot of jewelry out of this store, so the inventory is always changing. We didn't pick up anything this visit, but we'll stop back by again. It's fun to look! LOL read more

When you're in Fredericksburg, you have to stop here. Joe designs all of his pieces and knows how to make suggestions that make you look your best. The first thing he said to us was to make ourselves at home and we immediately felt like we could chat all day with him. His store is designed well. Though small, it has a lot of personality and many pieces to choose from that you will definitely find that one price you didn't know you needed. If you're missing that something to complete your look for dinner, TSR will have it. There's even a small section in the back with even more pieces. He suggested a pair of earrings that would show off my jawline and he was right. It was the exact shape I needed to complete my look and compliment the necklace I had picked out. I had to walk out with several pieces. What helps too is that he has photos on the wall that will help you decide what could match and he and his staff are very helpful at finding exactly what you need. There are pieces for those who want something simple, maybe a little bit more flash, and then bigger pieces too. What I love as well is that even with the bigger ones, they go with tank tops as well as dresses. You can't loose. Customer service is top notch here and every piece has its own personality. If I could post a -10 I would. I would say the person working in this store was rude and inconsiderate but it doesn't go far enough. My friend is handicapped and has a very hard time walking even with her walker. This cruel woman decided her "precious" rug was too important for my friend's walker to roll on. She wouldn't let my friend go into the store because it might damage a rug that the general public walks on every day! I would have told her off in person but I was afraid how mad I might get. To that woman who obviously was the owner. Handicap people have feelings and struggle just to get around. Think about that the next time you enjoy the freedom of walking across the room without help. A decent person would have let my friend enter the store and not considered a rug more important than my friend's feelings. SHAME on you! read more

Awesome! Normally I can't stand shopping, but Joe made this a completely different experience. Typically I take a nap or go look at stuff I find interesting and hold on to the cash while my wife browses. If she sees something she wants we go in and get it, then I run out like my pants are on fire. We went through the routine here as well, but to my surprise Dina came back with a nice pair of earrings for free and dragged me into Texas Silver Rush. Joe, the owner was fantastic, he greeted us like old friends and did an excellent job of selling his product, allowing my wife to mix and match and provided a steep discount. We found this place many years ago on the west side of town on Main Street. They moved a few doors down but they are still there making awesome jewelry. Joe, the owner, has personally helped us select pieces for important occasions or special people and never disappoints. He has friendly knowledgeable help and they are now online as well. I've gone online when they are having a live event and always get a shout out from Joe. They have more than silver, there are many handmade and commissioned pieces too. He also will come across old pieces and remake them into newer completely different pieces - more like art to me. This is a can't miss stop if you go to Fredericksburg. My childhood best friend was visiting and we took her to The Texas Silver Rush. She found a gorgeous ring that was only one of two that Joe just had commissioned in a collaboration with an artist friend of his. The other one was already sold.
