Most skin care places are closed on Sundays but Royal Skin Care was opened and I decided to give it a try after reading seeing their convenient hours and all the stellar Yelp reviews. From the very start, it was a great experience, I was easily able to book online and learn more about the different treatments they offer. I decided to go with the Basic Needs 50min facial - "This customized treatment begins with a deep cleanse, followed by manual or enzymatic exfoliation to resurface the skin and then light extractions. Custom vitamin masks based on your skin needs. Finish with red LED therapy to boost elasticity, collagen production, and product absorption." My esthetician was Valerie and she was wonderful. It was such a relaxing and comfortable experience. She was even able to remove a stubborn blackhead I've had for a while. After the 50 minutes, my skin was visibly more hydrated and smoother. The establishment is clean and it's located inside a small shopping center so parking wasn't a struggle (and it's free). One of my goals for this new year is to take better care of my skin and I'm so happy to have found a place that will help me accomplish that. Will definitely be returning!

That said, I didn't find the overall experience to be especially relaxing or pampering. I had assumed a shoulder and arm massage might be included, but that is actually an add-on that I didn't realize needed to be booked separately. The gua sha/facial massage was the main reason I chose this facial, and for me the pressure felt a bit too light to be very effective. Others who prefer a gentler touch might enjoy it more. Overall, this feels like a good place if you're looking for a quick skincare refresh. While it wasn't quite the spa-like experience I expected, it was convenient and the service itself was delivered as described. Complete side note that doesn't affect my rating: consider playing different music that is more in line with a skin care spa/clinic. That may help the overall experience.

This was my first visit to Honest Skin in and I could not have asked for a better experience. Abri was so sweet and easy to talk to -- I felt completely comfortable from the moment I walked in. She truly knows esthetics inside and out. She took the time to educate me on my skin and walk me through which products would actually work for my specific needs, which I appreciated so much more than a generic routine. Abri was just genuinely fantastic; knowledgeable, warm, and super easy to vibe with. I'd recommend her to anyone looking for a facialist who actually cares. I'll definitely be back!

I'll just share a few things about my experience here: 1. I firstly want to say that my facial was nice! It was relaxing, my skin didn't have any weird reactions, the studio was clean, everyone was super nice, and my skin looked great afterward. This is my first facial so I don't have anything to compare it to, but I would say I had a good experience. 2. Something I didn't love, however, was that I felt like I was being advertised to throughout my facial. I understand that they want to sell their products, but I didn't love that when I asked about alternatives that I could purchase from other places, I was told that nothing else was good enough and everything else had lesser quality ingredients, which I know isn't true. I didn't like feeling like I was being told their lines were the only "good" options. 3. Along the same lines, at the end of my treatment I was immediately asked to schedule my next facial. I felt put on the spot so I scheduled it, but didn't feel entirely comfortable with how pushy that part was. I ended up canceling it later. 4. I also wish each step of the facial had been explained to me as it happed, since this was my first facial and I didn't know what to expect. I did ask for that at the beginning but I think they forgot. It isn't a big deal, but without a heads up, some steps were a little jarring sometimes. My bottom line is that I think the facial was nice and I think my skin looks better because of it, but because of the other parts of the experience that felt a little uncomfortable, I'm going to try out another place for my next facial before returning.

The building itself it no frills and pretty mellow, and doesn't feel stuffy like some of the other places I have visited. Bailey was down to earth, friendly and checked in at various times throughout the appt, but was not overly chatty, which made for a nice relaxing appt. The facial itself was very different from past experiences, in a very good way. The extractions were not painful and I was a little doubtful that anything happened, but when I went hope my skin looked great and a lot of small bumps had been removed. I live in Bankers Hill and I saw there was a sugaring studio called La Di Da Sugaring. I made an appointment to give it a shot and I absolutely loved it and would never go back to any other kind of wax. I used to get ingrown hair with regular waxing and since starting sugaring, I have never had any ingrown hairs or red bumps. I now recommend sugaring to everyone. This review is for Isabella. Isabella is detailed-oriented, super kind, and I love our chats when I visit. Thank you, Isabella, for making my visits comfortable and welcoming. No complaints about this studio. The only thing I would mention is that parking is hard to find, so if you live close by you should walk there.
