I went to this spa using a voucher from Wahanda for a friend and me to go for a 2 for 1 Pure Relaxation Spa Day Experience. The wet facilities were superb with a huge Jacuzzi, Sanarium, Salt inhalation room and Aroma steam room. They also sported a pool, ice chute and some very unusual showers. Slippers and robes were provided as well as lots of lovely fluffy towels. The treatments were in warm relaxing rooms and the beauticians were well informed and professional. I came away gleaming from head to toe (I sampled a mini massage, facial and pedicure), feeling serene and with the impression that I had seen how the other half live. My only criticism was that the restaurant was a little pricey (our vouchers included lunch which was actually a set price lunch voucher, so we had to spend more) but I would highly recommend the pumpkin salad which was extremely tasty. All round this was a thumbs up from me.

The face cloth was rough so I ended up with a strong headache during the first half when lying face down. The therapist had nice strong hands but did hurt me at times. I mentioned the pain but she never asked if the pressure was ok or not. Last was the oil. I was covered in it, dripping off me when the massage finished. There was a towel that I used to wipe some of it off myself but I have had other places try to remove excess oil before the massage ends. The place is nicely decorated and everyone is professional, however I don't feel like I want to go back.

So I booked a haircut and off I went, ready to be calmed. But all i got was a haircut, not the best I've ever had, but not a bad one either. Needless to say i was disappointed about the lack of sensory journey etc etc Yes, of course I should have said something, but I was struck dumb by that ridiculous British trait of being too embarrassed. So my disappointment with this salon was partly my own fault, but really they shouldn't promise things they don't give. Other than that, the salon is good. It has a good relaxed vibe, and judging by the pictures of its treatment rooms, looks like a great place to have a massage. The staff are also really friend, and maybe one day I'll go back, this time with a little more courage!

The woman massaging me gave nothing close to a deep tissue massage that I asked/paid for. I'm not sure what she was doing, but she kept running her nails all over my skin very lightly in an almost sensual way; at one point she came way too close to my groin area doing this "massage" technique. She also tried massaging my front without anything covering my groin; I had to convince her to put the towel on me before I would roll over for her to continue. As far as I knew, This place wasn't the type of place that offered a bit extra! Apart from the above, my massage was only 45 minutes rather than the 60 minutes I paid for. When I asked about it at the front, they offered to give me £5 back because they charge £35 for a 45 minute massage and £40 for 60 minutes. I challenged and said I should get 1/4 of what I paid back since the massage was 1/4 short. They refused to give me the £10 and again offered £5 or to add 15 minutes on my next massage. I knew I wouldn't be going back, so I settled for the money and left.

I had always had a keen interest in holistic therapy but had never really explored my feet before. She had decided she wanted to learn a new skill and needed people with health complaints. I jumped at the chance to have 10 weeks of reflexology and knew she would have a field day with all my problems. I don't think Imogen was quite prepared for the history of health problems I had suffered with, including IBS and endometriosis. After a very successful treatment program not only were a lot of my symtoms alleviated, but I soon discovered I was pregnant. I truly believe Imogen had a huge part to play in this as she did a lot of fertility work on me. She continued to treat me throughout my pregnancy and only 2 days before I went into labour.
