I have been going to Beejay for over ten years now, and even though I moved to the bay area, I still drive up to have my hair done. She is the BEST stylist hands down that I've ever had in my entire hair salon experiences. I have also observed another of her stylists in all the time I've frequented the various salons where Beejay worked before opening the Studio Salon, and she is also very talented...her name is Rene (sp?). The atmosphere is very relaxing, and there is never any pressure to purchase products (I always ask about products I want to purchase versus the other way around) and yet, the quality of the products recommended are fantastic for my hair (and if I have any issues with products, this location easily exchanges without question)! If you want great service without any pretentious treatment by staff and enviroment, definitely check it out! I also have referred so many people to here, that most of my family and friends now use them exclusively, however, I have so many people compliment my color, cuts, and/or styles that I have also referred many people I've never met! I got my hair done today at my first time in this salon by Anjelli. It was an all around okay experience. She did a good job of talking to me and was very friendly however I will not be going back. I made it very clear what I wanted with my hair and she made it clear she understood perfectly but the outcome of my hair just wasn't what I wanted. Especially for the price! The color was not what I was going for. The hair cut was not what I asked for. And the amount of time she took doing this was not what I liked either. It should not take almost 4 hours!! I had attempted to go from a brunette to a blond with disastrous results. I called on a Monday in a panic and BeeJay, the owner got me in that day. She did an amazing job taking me from orange (and I mean ORANGE) to a pretty strawberry blond with NO breakage. Everyone was nice and sympathetic and Bee Jay said if I wanted to tone it out again after living with it for a few days, she would be happy to do it. They also have very reasonable prices like others have said. I've found my new salon. I started going to Beejay about 10 years ago when I returned from college and needed to find a new salon. She has always been accommodating to my frequent wanting to "change it up"...and she always nails it! A few years ago I wanted to do something new, and asked her to give me a look that she thought would suit me best. I went from shoulder length hair to a pixie cut. And it was amazing! I never knew I could pull it off. I get asked almost daily, who does my hair. So if you are looking for an amazing hair dresser, who knows her stuff, this is the place. Worst customer service ever. BUYER BEWARE. I got extensions from BeeJay for the second time in May, and in less than 7 days, they were falling out in clumps. I do not live in the area, and the reason why I see her in the first place is because she is one of the few stylists in the area that does microchet hair extensions. I do not live or work in the area, and she knows this. Flying up there to get a hair correction is ridiculous to ask for, which is what BeeJay actually had the audacity to do. After my hair fell out, I asked for my money back, and she not only would not refund my money (I was being fair and asked for a partial refund of $700 as I realize that the hair itself is nonrefundable) and it took her over a week to even acknowlege my complaint and respond. She told me to fly up and have a look at it, but there was no way shed refund my money. I was in LA having important business meetings, and couldnt walk around with ridiculous hair due to her negligence, so I had to spend over a thousand to have it redone. I didnt have time to FLY up to a salon near Sacramento to have a hairdresser who messed up once TRY and do it again, only this time with an attitude. I found out by other stylists that the extensions were put in INCORECTLY, and thats why they fell out every time I tossed and turned in my sleep! Being away from home and looking for a good stylist was nervewracking. My hair is serious business! After worshipping the yelp gods and other more moronic websites, I narrowed my choices to 3 in the Roseville-Rocklin area (Hues, Charmed, and the Studio) and visited in person. I immediately made an appointment with BeeJay, the owner. She is friendly and down-to-earth. The big difference for me was that the prices were reasonable/comparable to other places except the staff were more experienced. Not one stylist in this place is green. The Studio does not feel like a high-end salon and I mean that in the best possible way. They do sell some high-end product but the decor and folk are just genuinely low-key and that is fine with me. My haircut was fine and what I asked for -- layers that allow my curls to do their thing properly and still long enough to pull back. The color was really good. BeeJay understood what I was liking and not liking about my current color and translated that into something similar only better, less brassy and more natural looking. I will be here one more time before I return to the left coast and will definitely be asking her to give me detailed instructions to take home! read more
