I have stayed at the Elite nearly every month for the last ten years. I tried all the hotels in and…read morearound town when I first started to work in Vasteras. The Elite is easily the best for a number of reasons. Location : Right in the town with everything wthin easy walking distance - there are maybe 10 bar \ restaurants within 5 mins walk. Comfort : All the rooms are comfortable and very clean ( my favorite is 107! ). LCD TV with some english language shows plus CNN etc. Bathrooms have all soaps shampoos etc which are replenished each day. Staff : Most important part of any customer facing business, the staff at the Elite are the best I ever met, nothing is a problem to any of them. From the initial greeting at reception you are made to feel at home. A good example is I had a accident a couple of years ago and used a stick for a year. You have to reserve a parking space when you book, the space they reserved for me was always by the entrance. I didnt ask for that and they didnt say anything it was just done. Thats something you will only get when the staff want to do their best because they care. Hotel Bar : As an english man this is very important ! - The Bishops Arms Pub is the best "hotel bar" I ever had a pint in !. It is the hotel bar but is nothing like any other. If you didnt know it was part of the hotel you would think you were in a English Pub. Its run by Joakim and his team and they are dedicated to Food \ Drink and customer service. There is never less than approx 20 draft beers to choose from, dozens of bottles of beer and hundreds of Whiskeys. Joakim has knowledge on all of them ( at least he seems to ! ) The menu is typical pub grub with a stab at english classics and a mix of typical Swedish dishes. Burgers are very popular in Sweden and most pubs have their own "special", the Bishops is the same. Try the Bacon Cheesburger, Im a big guy and I cant finish one ! All the food is good and I think you can order right upto 10pm. If you need a hotel or just a pub in Vasteras then you will be happy here Chris

I've seen way worse, and much better. Hence, the 3/5. Staff at the front desk was very nice, both on the phone and in person. No complaints there. I was in a single room, half of which was taken up by the bed. Not a huge fan of soft mattresses, but I slept fine. Someone had updated the decor with peel and stick recently, which is really just another thing pointing out that this is the budget option. It was clean enough in the important areas, although the fake flowers in the bathroom had enough dust on them to look sad. Being nearsighted I didn't notice until I put my glasses on in the morning. Housekeeping might wanna add washing them off every blue moon to their routine. I skipped breakfast because I had an early morning train, but there is one included in your stay. As far as accessibility goes, there is an elevator. The room I was in was on the small and very narrow side, so check with staff before booking to make sure they can accommodate you. Tl;dr you get what you pay for.
