Went here today to get into safe deposit box. Teller kept my driver's license saying she needed to scan it as I went into the viewing room with my box. Be careful with this bank I would not trust them with your money. They do not have good fraud protection and will hide behind programs that are difficult to use for businesses and that they charge for. My business had $27,000 stolen from their bank (check fraud) and they did absolutely nothing for me to get it back. I had to file my own police report, investigate the bank it was deposited in and leverage my own banking relationship with the other institution to get anywhere. I still don't have the money back 2 months later, but I have been assured by the OTHER institution it is placed on hold and I will get it back. The State Bank sent me a letter from their fancy attorney yesterday (their billable rate was probably close to my $27,000 that went missing) pointing a lot of fingers at me telling me my request for returned funds was denied. The State Banks employees are condescending and rude. Even the president of the bank was involved and could have cared less that they were losing a 25 year customer. BUSINESSES be very careful with your money in this institution! They have a history of bad decision making and fraud...chasse ballroom ring a bell? I attempted to apply for a HELOC, and six weeks later, I'm no farther than the day I started. They never followed up without me prodding them first. I received phone calls about my application twice, and they had me mixed up with someone else both times--a very disappointing experience. read more

My debit card was compromised 3 times in 6 months. The bank expedited my new card on the first occasion but not on the second two. On a separate occasion, I was called by the banks 'security provider' (my guess is that security provider must be the Fenton branch of the cub scouts,lol, not to insult the Fenton Boy Scouts by any means) regarding purchases in a radius of 10 miles from my residence which were my owned purchases.This last time purchases were made in West Virginia and the security provider saw no reason to flag these purchases. So after I contacted the bank regarding these fraudulent charges I was told they would not expedite a new card because if they did they would have to do it for every customer? Really, a week before Christmas? There's true customer service for you. I am still waiting for the money that was fraudulently taken from my account to be returned. This bank lacks in customer service and management looks to only move in the bank's interest and not the customers best interest. A big thank you goes out to the banks manager Chris O'Connor for being a true customer service professional (sarcasm), Merry Christmas to you and thanks for saving the bank a service charge and making my Christmas a lot less convenient and a lot more stressful. if i could give 0 stars i would. i'm going out of the country for a month & i told them months in advance. i asked the bank to unblock foreign charges as i was the one making them. they told me that i couldn't do that unless i call every time to tell the exact amount and the website. absolutely ridiculous. i ended up having train tickets cancelled, flight reservations cancelled, & hostel reservations cancelled. a huge source of stress for me. needless to say im done with the state bank. read more

Too often at this branch I've had to wait way to long to make a simple deposit. I try to go to VG's instead.
