There was a small section near the front, with some handicapped and regular spots. So we parked there, wondering if they don't get a big crowd because there were only a few spots. Apparently you park before you get to the building, the lot we parked in usually goes to the older folks. Lesson learned. We saw RFK there, a one-man show about Bobby Kennedy. I was a little dubious about it, but the actor did a fantastic job! It kept my attention and I learned quite a bit. James got a standing ovation from all of us there. I don't know how he memorized all those lines. The theater itself is really cute, the doors to the stage/seating are really memorable. They also offered coffee, wine, other drinks, and all kinds of little snacks. The glass of wine was $5. And you can bring it inside with you while you watch. The seats were not super comfortable, but they were more comfortable than most other theaters. This is key when you're sitting down for 2+ hours. They were very low to the ground though, like sitting on a kid's trainer potty. Not sure how the older folks got up and down since it meant squatting a little low. This brings me to the audience. I'm not sure if it was the play subject matter, or the theater, or just the culture of theater in general, but we were the youngest people there by far. It didn't bother me at all, but the age gap was pretty noticeable. It made me want to write a stellar review about this little theater to get more young people to come appreciate it!! I saw that Monty Python's Spamalot will be coming through this year. And guess who's going? This girl. And maybe you??

The play was called The Women of Lockerbie and I was blown away by how good it was. The writing, directing, and set all hit their marks, but the acting was simply transcendental. All the actors were very good, especially the three leads who were able to draw the audience into the story without getting to button pushy with the audience's emotions. I hate when I feel like I'm being manipulated emotionally and this performace was able to bring me along for the ride without that feeling of being used. This play is only open another week, so if you want to see it you better hussle up to Evergreen!

The Phase II expansion completed in June 2024 has greatly enlarged the facility with community spaces, classrooms, artist studios, an artist-in-residence program, and a state-of-the-art ceramics studio. CAE sees its mission as a community hub, hosting ten annual art exhibits, a wide variety of children's and adult classes and workshops, summer camps, and mentorships. There is also a concert series, community rental spaces, arts festivals, an elegant gift shop showcasing local artists, and many community outreach initiatives. I visit the gallery when I come to Evergreen. It is a nice exhibit space and has presented many interesting shows over the years, featuring material of local, regional, and national scope.

I dropped in just before Christmas to find that they still have my work, unfused and sitting there still. Okay - the holidays, a power outage. So I phoned after the new year, no answer, so I left a message asking what's going on? Nothing. I'm considering asking for my $158 back. In the age of phones, texts and emails, there's no excuse for this lack of communication on their part. I am one unhappy camper. Done in three or four days, she said. Should have been weeks.

I've never had any kind of musical training before--though I've always been a huge music fan--and I used to think I missed my chance by not starting as a kid. Louise has completely changed that mindset for me and shown me that it's truly never too late. I enjoy every single lesson. She has helped me learn how to actually use my voice, and I've noticed such a difference over time. I love the warm-ups--sometimes my voice feels weak when we start, but after a few exercises I feel strong, comfortable, and ready to sing. No matter what song or genre I choose, she can play it beautifully on the piano and guide me toward the right tone and technique. She has an incredible ear for music and is clearly so talented. I was nervous starting out, but Louise immediately made me feel at ease. It's a complete no-judgment zone. She's incredibly understanding--whether my body feels tired or my throat feels off, she always has thoughtful, helpful advice. She's also very accommodating when I've needed to change appointments, which I really appreciate. What I love most is how fun the lessons are. It truly feels like meeting with a friend. I leave every session feeling confident, energized, and in a great mood for the rest of the day. I'm genuinely excited to see where this journey takes me. I would recommend Louise to anyone, at any age or experience level. Working with her has been such a positive and rewarding experience.
