It's a shame that the owner ( very nice lady btw ) doesn't have better people working there. The cashier "peanut" and his side kick are the only ones I've ever seen in there besides her. That guys always closing early. Never smiles. Doesn't know. A damn thing about anything in the store that's for sale or otherwise. I've bought a few vapes there for Convenience since it's close to my house but the rudeness and past few times I've been ripped off on low quality vapes that they won't do shit about. Looked like he was gonna kick my ass Probably because he was talking about some drug deal that went down with someone he knew. He acted real pissed that I interrupted his conversation. When I had questions about some of their water pipes he rolled his eyes and said "...well what are you looking for?" I said I don't know, but I was willing to hear some suggestions. I told him my budget and he pointed at a few of them and I asked which ones had good airflow and again asked for some suggestions. Again, he said "well I don't know what you're looking for, so I don't know what to tell you...?" So I brought up the fact that I was his first reviewer and he told me to get the fuck out. Sold me a broken "PALM" (vaporizer) paid $30 for it and i have confirmed with multiple cartridges that it does not work. Took this back the first time only to find they were closed during business hours. The second time I requested to trade the broken item for a working replacement I was told "you should have come back the same day". Wont be coming back here. read more

The service staff is rude and borderline abusive. I bought a (pricey) scale that would not calibrate. I returned to be told that I either had to buy an additional part or they would charge me an additional $5 to get it to work correctly. When I said that I would prefer to exchange the scale for one that works I was called rude. In the end, the manager did calibrate the item at no charge but threw the item at me in anger when he was done. Take your business elsewhere. read more

When I first moved to Golden Hill I was looking for a smoke shop near by and found this place. Having been there multiple times I can promise you that this place will rip you off if you let them. The last time I was there... 9am (when they open) on a weekday...I ended up sitting in my car for 35 minutes since the owner was late to open shop. He didn't apologize nor did I feel welcome. This shop is more expensive than most and has a small selection of vape juice. If your looking for a smoke shop with high quality products and great customer service, I highly recommend Hillcrest Vape shop. Don't recommend coming here, very inconsistent hours of operation. I've come here quite often over the past three years, and this has happened more times then I've been inside. Today I left work on my hour lunch break to go grab some new coils for my vape. Mind you it's 12:45pm, middle of the day with the open sign on, walk up to the door and it's locked. Stood there brainlessly for about 5-10 minutes, in hopes the owner or whoever is working accidentally locked the door. **IF I COULD GIVE ZERO STARS I WOULD** Went in a few weeks ago with a friend and at first things were okay, but quickly went downhill. The woman working the floor at the time (it must've been 4-5pm) kept casually using the N word. In any professional setting using racial slurs is unacceptable, and inappropriate! When we both shared our discomfort with her using the word she argued with us that where's she's from, it's a term of endearment. Working in customer service for many years, arguing with a customer, ESPECIALLY when they show discomfort or unhappiness it is your job to make sure we leave feeling the exact opposite! Because of this woman, her argument, and her poor choice of words, we are will not be returning to the smoking bear and hope that with this review they do some sensitivity training! read more

My husband and I went in there and we purchased two vap pens. Both of them did not work properly. My husbands would not hold a charge and the one for me overheated. First my husband went in and they exchanged the battery for his and that did the trick, then I went in with mine and they were going to exchange the battery however every single battery in that model did not work so I had to go back again. When I went in the next day it was to exchange it, they were applying the amount of the original pen towards the next. The next one I get (they gave me the floor model not a new unopened one) has a leak and works when it wants to. Nice to know I wasted over $60.00 and still have to buy a new one. read more
