Update for 2026: I…read moreseen it was empty so I stopped by. Big mistake. I had medium length hair. Asked for scissors only (no fade) and to take half an inch off the top. Brother cut my hair finger length all the way around then double downed by using the comb/clipper technique for the sides. Trimmers were hot, sharp and burnt my neck while lining that left minor scabs. Looks worse than it did before going in there. Terrible experience personally, but I honestly should have went to a salon not a barber.

Apparently I beat the end of the day rush as about 6 folks walked in right behind me. The haircut was pretty good. About what I'd expect in a military town, and that's what I wanted, shave and trim and it delivered as expected. Conversation with the Barber was smooth, and while his clippers could use a sharpening, everything was all good. No frills here and, nothing fancy, so if you're looking for a bougie place to get your wig, hemmed up, this isn't your place. You need a good haircut, this is your place.

I appreciated his barber asking questions, pulling out their phone to get more detail. I especially appreciated watching how all the barbers worked together when my grandson's barber had questions or needed help. I liked how they worked together instead of leaving a co-worker struggling. Too often, anymore, it's becoming more rare of witnessing co-workers helping one another. I was encouraged that's not the case here. For a basic cut, the barbers had clients in and out lickity-split.

$10 military haircuts, what's not to love?…read more Rosa is a tattooed, ear-gauged, foul-mouthed Marine spouse, so you should be prepared for that going in. This is like the biker bar of barbershops. The inside decor has all the best American redneck appeal (not that that's a bad thing) and looks like it could have been a restaurant at one point. There's a waiting area, but everyone who came in just waited at these circular dining tables in the middle. It's a big place, but no one else seemed to work there other than Rosa. Luckily, she works fast and I was the first one in line. Actually, the sign on the door said they open at 9... online it said 10... she got there around 10:15. Definitely on island time, so beware. Overall, Rosa was really nice and chatty and did a great job giving me a high-and-tight. This atmosphere definitely won't be for everyone, but if you're from the country and/or have been in the military (both of which apply to me) it won't be all that unfamiliar even if it's way out of the norm I've come to expect living up in northern Virginia.
