Ah yes - the Royal Cheese!…read more Not actually a restaurant specializing in hamburgers but a clothing boutique focused on upscale street-style fashion, I got to know this store pretty well during my 4-day stay in Paris. You see, I stayed in an apartment located directly above the shop. This meant I was always coming and going, passing through and sharing a private door with the well-mannered gentlemen working at the Royal Cheese. Because we shared far too many hellos to still be strangers, I considered it my duty to check out the boutique's wares. A well-curated selection of skinny jeans and soft t-shirts, the style here is definitely a carefully-plotted combination of 'I'm-not-trying-too-hard' garments and the accessories that pull the look together: cognac-hued leather satchels, vintage-look belts and sharp shoes. It's a bit pricey, but we all know the tousled, 'just got out of bed' look doesn't just happen; it's orchestrated with precision.

If you want to drown in vintage clothing & accessories and be overwhelmed with the sheer volume of…read morecloth in one place, Kiliwatch is for you. We walked into one of the most unique store layouts I've seen. In the front, they had a highly curated selection of popular items and in the back it is old school no frills vintage shopping where you have to sort through a lot of trogs to find your princess. I tried like 14 different things on, and was stuck on whether I should get this beautiful pinstripe suit or not. I was looking at myself in the mirror for far too long before my girlfriend said "don't you have another navy blue pin stripe suit?" I scoffed and responded viciously "Pfftt yeah but this is a deeper navy, that one is closer to an ocean bl--" when I was stopped mid sentence by the rational half of my brain that realized she was completely right. I put it down and didn't end up getting anything, as my Chase Sapphire Preferred card has suffered enough on this trip. Wifey got these sick blue sunglasses that I am lowkey jealous I didn't find first, but I would never tell her that. She was on her game. Fairplay. IG @johnny.novo Tiktok @jnov__ Substack @johnnynovo
