The car park is at the back of the pub, just a short walk away. There is a seating area outside which of course is mainly used in the summer, so you can sit right next to the river. The pub is quite large, with a large lounge area as you walk in, then nearer the back of the pub is the restaurant area, which also has a carvery. We went a few years ago as a group of 20 and was well looked after, and the food was very good.

Nice beer though, just not as anticipated. It was one of four ales (pub serves a maximum of 5). Free newspapers to read.

Newton Abbot's Teignworthy brewery is usually featured; other local beers include Hunters, Jollyboat, Exe Valley and O'Hanlons. Great lunchtime grub; roast dinners are particularly good value and I can also vouch for the steaks. Bands Saturday nights, some of which are quite good. Karaoke Friday nights - if you like that sort of thing! They also have darts and euchre evenings. For cider lovers the Thatchers Gold is not at all bad, but there is also Gaymers perry and Blackthorn.

It was as lovely as the barmaid who served it for me. This is a wonderfully unique bar. I fully recommend a visit. Like going back in time in some respects. They have some fruit wine (like gooseberry!) if you don't like cider (but no beer, which was normal for traditional cider houses).
