I can even put up with so-so food if that's what's in the immediate area, I can put up with paying a few extra bucks if that's all that's in the area, but if you can bind those two and add on poor and unfriendly service, then no thank you. Luckily I found Hobby's Delicatessen via Find Me Gluten Free and was so glad to find that they do legitimate gluten-free options with a dedicated fryer and prep space to prevent cross contamination. I had the gluten-free pastrami wrap with fries for $23.95 and my husband had the #5 pastrami and corned beef with coleslaw and Russian dressing for $25.95. he also got the drip coffee with free refills for $3.25. Service was amazing. Owner's came out and chatted with us and preemptively made sure that I was aware that my food was safe for me to consume. Our waitress was incredibly personable and sweet. There were free pickles on the table. I'm not even a pickle person but I had three because again, I've been dying for vegetables after being in Europe. Great portions, safe celiac options, personable service, refillable drinks and no charge to use the toilets (although I didn't need to use them during this visit) This is what makes American restaurants great and Hobby's ticks all of those boxes.
