I feel compelled to up the ante and throw a fifth star in the mix in support of this Salvation Army. Yesterday I took an impromptu browse of the various offerings, including great summer shoes and some sweet tops and jackets. I ended up trying on a super sexy retro leather jacket, lined with a fabulous paisley design. It didn't fit quite the way I'd hoped, but I loved it nonetheless. I tried on a few summer tops, and when I'd decided against buying anything I found the messenger bag/purse of my dreams. I've been on the hunt for a previously loved brown leather tote, perfect for a book, wallet and those other little odds and ends. In a bin near the changing rooms I discovered this gorgeous treasure buried amidst some other random goodies. AND IT WAS ONLY $4! YAY! The service is friendly and genuine, and the store is bright and tidy. Hands down, this is now my favorite Sally-Anne in the city!

I call it slop shop hopping. This location on Strawberry hill was probably one of the first locations that I went to and got me started. I wish they would do something about the smell of this location as sometimes it turns me off of shopping or makes my visit quick. Normally when I go I do have a routine and go straight to the purses to see if anyone has turned in something that I would like. Many times I have found things that were in good conditions. I have purchased articles of clothing here I really like when I come across a nice pair pair or worked in jeans that I can turn into a jean skirt. Around back if you are ever finding that your closets or household items are starting to stack up and you are not using them you can drop them off in one of the many bins outback.

This store has been going down hill for at least several years. From high prices, chaotic messes,…read morerampant drug use outside of the building during work hours. Multiple workers complained about being underpaid and being poorly treated by management. I recently had a bad experience prompting me to voice my concern. I was outside the front door where a lady was yelling and screaming. She was smoking a pipe. Employees just stood by. The fact that this is just so normal to everyone there scares me. I am 78 years old. I will not be returning. Buyer beware!

It makes a big difference when you're looking through the racks to have a friendly face telling you about the deals rather than feeling like you're in the way, which I've experienced at other thrift stores in the past. There are two floors to this shop - today the second floor was wedding themed, which was amazing. There were also formal dresses, jewellery, handbags and suits on display upstairs - anything you might need if you were going to or planning a wedding. It was fun poking through the wedding dresses and seeing right in front of you how much styles have changed throughout the decades! Downstairs there is a "front" that has racks of clothing and some jewellery and in the back, you'll find some homewares and yet even more clothing. Shoes, winter coats, and kids clothes are back there. The prices at Hand in Hand are amazing!! You won't find any almost-full-price goods here. If the item wasn't priced it was $4, and Friday's are student discount days! (Good to know!) We found an amazing hot pink pineapple print dress...definitely not for me, but one of our friends was so excited to be getting it. This is the kind of thrift store I enjoy being in - it really feels like you could find rare treasures here if you just had enough time.

This is a great clinic! I've been in a couple of times and have always found the experience & staff…read moreboth friendly and welcoming. It's easy to discuss any topic with the staff without feeling judged. I appreciate the privacy and confidentiality that the clinic employs, particularly with their phone contact - no giveaway name on caller ID and no name given for the clinic on voicemails. I can see how this would be particularly important for some folks. The clinic provides needed unbiased, science-based information, which is hugely important and sometimes hard to get for some topics like unwanted pregnancies. FYI: The clinic is a not-for-profit, so if you care about everyone being able to access sexual health services (e.g. paps, STI checks, pregnancy checks, birth control, IUD insertions, etc.), you can donate any amount to a collection box they have and they also write receipts for larger amounts.

I can't express how grateful I am for the kind, professional and efficient care I received here. The receptionist was very warm and sensitive to the fact that their patients might feel a bit uncomfortable being there. (I wasn't, but it sure was refreshing to have my modesty validated) The doctor that treated me on my initial visit is the rarest breed of doctor who realises that, given it's my body, how I feel and what I need is important. I'm so used to feeling as though I'm somehow just borrowing my body and therefore, need permission instead of advice with regard to its care. She reminded me that I'm a pretty vital part of the equation. ;) The doctor who placed the device was incredible. This is my third Mirena and it was by far the most comfortable procedure I've had with the quickest recovery. I mean, it's not a cake walk, but she made me feel very relaxed and walked me through each step. I was a bit dizzy and hot after, but they put me in a private room to get my act together and made sure I had water and ice. In a province where doctors are difficult to get and when you finally find one taking new patients, they're overworked and pushed to the max, this entire team is a beacon of light. Thank you all so much.
