Okay, I did come back....my husband wanted to look at record albums. The place is still way overpriced, if you find something with a .99 color tag, you might be doing okay. I was looking at tops and so many had stains on them. The pricing structure here is nuts, because I get decent and clean clothing for way less at Port Jervis store. I don't think the employees who intake items even give them a glance. Oh, the price tags are STAPLED on garments and that can ruin them. This horrible practice should be stopped. Plastic to hold the paper tag should be the standard. read more

This is a large Salvation Army drop off location in Middletown, NY. On route 211 East. Just past the malls. Drop off is in the back area, with alot of room for many cars, so its pretty easy that way. Sometimes the people who work there come and help you bring things in, sometimes they don't. I'm not sure what drives that either way, but its nice when they do. Its a clean facility, new, they moved there about 2 years ago or so. They take your gently used items and resell them in the store out front, which is also well kept and organized. read more

I agree with Maria B. Large, clean, well organized. Mostly clothes, but probably varies, this was my first visit. I didn't see much furniture although there is plenty of room to display it. Perhaps a good place to donate furniture if you are seeking a place to do so. I can't seem to locate open hours for store and donations. read more

Easily one of my top five favorite thrift shops in the Hudson Valley. While it's light on glassware, bric-a-brac and old non-working electronics (which is unfortunate) it more than makes up for it in boatloads of ugly sweatshirts, corduroy pants that I can buy but will never wear because they never fit right, a huge selection of random coats, jackets and windbreakers and plenty of gross 30 year old couches that I can fantasize about buying when I furnish my next dump of an apartment. I recently stopped in and quickly found my happy place, wantonly binging on stupid-looking, gross clothes. I purchased a bright green sweatshirt with a golfer on it, which sadly does not fit and will now take up space in a crumpled up ball on my bedroom floor for the next year or two and a yellow "Born to Shop" t-shirt which turned out to be super-long and thus unwearable. I was 0 for 2 and then BAM. I tried on the plum-colored turtle neck that I bought and it hit my sweet spot, hard. Wore it out that night, despite the protests of my girlfriend who was indeed seen in public with me while wearing it, all night. Finally, I bought a crazy looking pair of light blue and silver sneakers with zebra stripes. In hindsight, this may have been an unwise impulse buy. But at least they fit! read more

Gave one star because it won't let you give none. The staff person who was there was curt, rude and judgmental. He didn't greet us and was nasty about telling us what was and wasn't ALLOWED. How can they not accept 2 brand new lampshades? Plus he was rude about it. We were making a donation and he never even said thank you. We are sorry we gave them such nice things. Won't be donating here anymore. read more

Meh. I wrote a glowing review years ago but have been in several times and their prices are getting ridiculous. Today I saw a well worn sweater priced at $14.99 !!! For a used sweater?? Other tops were $4.99, $5.99. I could probably catch a sale on new for that price at a department store. Very disappointed that their prices are so unrealistic for the quality. Perhaps when they have their sale days the discount brings the price down to something realistic but their regular prices are getting prohibitive. Right across the street is Lovely Ladies Consignment. Much higher quality, much better prices. I think I will skip SA for awhile. read more

Couldnt give 0 stars, so... Random prices on identical items ; for example 3 identical curtain panels: 1marked literally twice the price of the other 2- was told they are priced individually and they follow a price guide...lol! Couldn't possibly follow a guide or they would be the same price... No common sense or courtesy. Unfriendly people, poor service and inflated prices. Nothing returnable... Even Goodwill let's you return for credit. read more

Wow I just waited on line for almost a half hour watching the slowest two women ring people up. If you can't chat and count money maybe you shouldn't be chatting? Anywhere else and they'd already be fired. I know this place has good intentions and all, but time is money and I think I'd rather go shop somewhere else. Saw two others just leave the line and walk out in disgust. Plus their home goods selection is always horrible and they are very picky about what they will take as donations. Was there Saturday n found a piece of furniture I wanted to purchase. No price on it. Asked the woman at the register how much. Talked to manager...how much. Wa told it couldn't be price till Monday, but would put it aside for me. Gave them my # and came in right after work on Monday. Only to be told oh it must have been sold already. What the **** . Very poor management....don't tell some one one thing n do another. read more

This place is awesome and huge with the best prices

VERY impressed with this new and improved Salvation Army. The workers work hard to keep it clean and organized. It is HUGE!!! and the prices are good for the most part. Certain days, certain items are on sale. (I just got a LENOX picture frame for $1.. retail would be about $60). The drop off donation area is very easy to access with a counter like at the airports for your luggage. But the best thing is that they are open until 8pm! I believe they are trying to compete with the retail stores (and why shouldn't they???) I have found so many bargains and treasures there! Thank you for a great shopping experience! read more
