This past weekend my family had our Mother's memorial. From the moment we meet the staff to the moment we left from our event it was amazing. They were very accommodating, sweet, friendly and loved the attention to all the details they added to the room to make our Mothers Memorial specia

Debbie and her team are so awesome. With one day notice (long story) they made our daughter's wedding a success. Debbie is so sweet and I am so thankful we found her to help us. The Ruston Chapel is so quaint and a perfect destination for a smaller wedding venue. We have gotten so many compliments on the wedding. Thank you Debbie and team for making Amari and Jayden's wedding memorable and a success in less than a day of preparation. They went above and beyond. You're the best!

Ruston Chapel was AMAZING! If you're looking for a low to no stress wedding day venue for a small wedding...look no further Ruston Chapel is the place for you! The owner, Debbie, was so accommodating and provided an all inclusive wedding experience at a reasonable price. She totally nailed our decoration vision my now newly husband and I had for our special day. Debbie was our officiant, too. She did a wonderful job with our ceremony. In addition, Debbie and another staff member, Olivia provided a beautiful cake reception. Olivia was so helpful with fixing my train on my dress since we had a micro wedding with no wedding party. We had a manificent weddind day! All our guest and vendors gave so many compliments. I highly reccommend The Ruston Chapel!

Debbie did a fantastic job working with my new husband and myself on making our wedding day so special. Amongst the covid conflict she really went above and beyond to help us have exactly what we wanted after having to reschedule from May 2020 to August 2020. Everything was ABSOLUTELY beautiful and we are so happy we had her officiate after cancelling with our original person to help with head count. It was a perfect day.

My wedding day was amazing thanks to the Ruston Chapel !!!

I am so excited about this place!!! We will be getting married August 4th, 2013 and I can't wait!!! The outside scares you a little because it looks so small. But what the owner has done, and how she sets everything up, really makes it seem so much bigger. I will update my review once we actually get married but this has been our experience so far... The inside is beautiful. The wood flooring is new and just so pretty. The bridal dressing room is perfect and really big. The grooms "room" is small but the room really isn't necessary since the groom usually comes in his tux already unlike the bride who actually has to Change into her dress there. Marquel (I might have spelled that wrong) the owner is the BEST!! She is so sweet, so laid back. She gives a military and public service (like fire fighter and police) discount of 10%. She has always replied back to my emails within hours and my phone calls even quicker. She's helpful and has everything there. She has the tables the chairs. She has the table linen and the chair linens. Napkins, table runners, center pieces, the dinnerware, the silverware cups glasses. She even has the traditional wedding music. She just makes this really easy. I just couldn't be happier with her!!! I was a little worried about the posed photos because the chapel doesn't really have a lot of opportunities or places outside for them. But once I saw point defiance park my worries of that went away!!! It's literally less than two blocks from the park that has a rosé garden, a lake, bridges, a Japanese garden, the ocean, the zoo, the aquarium, the awesome moss covered WA trees... It's seriously a wedding photographers dream!!! So many opportunities!! I will be sharing the photos and experience with you all in August!!!

My husband and I met Jan with less than 45 days until our pending nuptials. Jan was fantastic! We had a small and intimate wedding of 40 people or so. She walked us through every detail- leaving nothing out! She helped us find other vendors, including a officiant with less than a week to spare! I highly recommend this chapel to anyone who wants a charming, high quality, classy wedding!

The moment you step in, you're surrounded by towering, hundred-year-old trees from all over the world that give the park a magical, shaded atmosphere. It's not just a park, it's also an arboretum, so tree lovers will appreciate the variety and history here. At the heart of it all is the Seymour Conservatory, a Victorian-style glasshouse that looks like it belongs in a storybook. Inside, you'll find a lush collection of tropical plants, seasonal floral displays, and even quirky additions like cacti and Golden Dart Frogs (fun fact: in the wild, they're considered the most poisonous frogs on Earth, but here they're safe since their diet is different). Beyond the conservatory, the park has a beautiful lily pond, fountains, open lawns perfect for picnics, and plenty of walking paths. It's also very family-friendly with playgrounds and lots of space to run around. Wright Park has that perfect mix of history, nature, and community. Whether you're here to stroll among the century-old trees, relax by the pond, or pop into the conservatory, it's easily one of Tacoma's most picturesque hidden gems. Best part? Admission is free, with a donation box available if you'd like to support it.

There are a multitude of trees providing shade and many have signs showing when they were first planted, which provides some interesting history of this area. There's a building that has some really cute turtles and frogs and there are animal costumes for the kiddies. As for the adults? There's a walking trail that goes around the lake. It's pretty short, but if you go around a few times you can get a nice walk in. It's very shaded and I will definitely be coming here more when Summer comes.

I actually saw a local mom influencer post about it on Instagram and decided to visit with my kids! The Discovery Pond playground is super cute and was a hit with my kids (5 and 3). It's all nature themed, of course, with fun slides and climbing structures, as well as a small playground off to the side of the main playground. In addition, there's fun trails for the kids to explore surrounding the playgrounds that I felt comfortable enough letting them check out on their own since the whole area is pretty condensed and it's easy to hear/see them. There looked to be some pond areas that were all dried up. From past photos I think there are normally some frogs and bugs and other things that sometimes fill up these ponds, but it being the start of the hot season they are pretty baren. Would be cool to come back and check out in the fall! I also appreciate the amount of benches and picnic tables around the playground, as we were able to snag a shaded one that the kids could have their lunch at and take a break from running around. After we played and had lunch at the playground, we went on the little half mile ish trail behind the info center. It was mostly flat and very easy for the kids. The hit was definitely the bridge that goes over a large pond where we were able to spot several turtles, tadpoles, ducks, etc. We didn't pay attention to the time and missed out on going inside of the info center (it closes at 2) so that will be on the list for next time as well. Overall such a cute little spot that we'll I'm sure we'll hit up several times this summer!

I'm kinda surprised that I never made it in before the baby shower, because this spot is pretty close to home. Parking is easy with several lots around the area and also street parking out front of the brewery (if you're lucky enough to snag one). This place is huge! Super open concept and I can definitely see how they manage to host events here on a regular basis. Also love the vibe here and the string lights, it just makes everything feel cozy. They have lots of board games, corn hole, and a steel tip dart board for people to enjoy. They're also kid-friendly which is nice to note for future visits (sorry if you're one of those people who doesn't like kids at breweries, we're still rollin' up). Service was great while we were here as well. Their beer selections are solid and I enjoyed their hazy. They also have a cider or two on tap as well as a seltzer, if I'm remembering correctly. They have a good selection of canned wines as well. Overall this is a solid brewery and with it being close to home, I'm sure we'll be back a few times this summer!
