The Royal Oak at Eydon is a great little traditional village pub in the heart of Northamptonshire. The Pub has recently been developed, and now contains quite a posh restaurant. The Pub is very popular locally and has a broad local following. The actually drinking section of the pub is quite separate from the restaurant section and maintains traditional 17th century qualities such as a stone floor and oak tables and chairs. The food in the restaurant is exemplary, we often dine there, and a favorite of ours is the Pork with an Indian twist, £12.75. Also recommended is the Steaks, noted in the area, quite pricey, but worth the extra pence. The beer too at the pub is not cheap, though such is the case with remote village pubs these days. The Real Ales they serve though are delicious and a welcome change from the standard city lagers.
In general a lovely little pub with an excellent atmosphere and good quality food, a little pricey, but delightful all the same. read more
