We got the last room of the 10 available which has a side view of the ocean. The room is spotless with modern bathroom, tea maker, good lighting, free wifi, plugins, and flat screen. A full English Breakfast in a lovely bright breakfast room is included the moderate price of the room. We enjoyed our stay here so much, we added a second night, and would definitely stay here again.

My wife and I were trying to find the sun on a rainy summer visit, and this area was the only part of southern England not under the clouds. No wonder Dickens liked the place! The East Horndon sits across the road from the clifftops. It is off the main road and very quiet, with little traffic day or night. There is easy beach access, and it is only a 5 minute walk into the heart of Broadstairs, where you will find an amazing number of pubs, tearooms and restaurants. Stay a week, and you can try a different restaurant or pub each night! The rooms are large, modern and very comfortably decorated. Most have excellent ocean views, and even our back side room (the last room available when we walked in) has a nice view from the sitting area. The hosts, Geoff and Wendy Jervis could not be more welcoming and helpful. Breakfast is included in the price and was served in a sunny room on the ground floor. The service was excellent, and you could choose from a buffet or have the full English breakfast or a bit of both. You won't find a more relaxing place to spend a seashore holiday. We decided to stay a second night, we liked it so much!

We stayed here for our wedding anniversary. If you are after a good night's sleep after a day spent…read morewalking along the beach, sightseeing and sampling cocktails, then room 24 isn't conducive to this. The pillows were rock hard, the carpet was stained, there were no side tables or ledge so my book, alarm clock and bottle of water had nowhere to sit and the shouting from people walking outside could be heard until 3am. I've never been so happy for daylight to arrive. We had booked a table in their restaurant for dinner and after being seated we were informed that they were short staffed so we would need to place all orders at the bar - hardly romantic. The last thing we felt like doing was queue every time we needed something else. Breakfast however was nice as were the staff serving it. The Albion sits in a stunning location and maybe this is why they charge the prices that they do but it was not worth it. Every towel had a stain on it, the bathroom blind couldn't be pulled down owing to the broken chain and every inch of our room was in need of an uplift. The best part for us was checking out, sadly.

Room was super clean and had a lovely big bath too, overlooking the sea and perfect for people watching. Breakfast was man size, fresh pastries, juice etc. I had pancakes and bacon which was a welcome change to a full english..husband full english..he ate it all and couldn't eat again until dinner! I will book again as soon as possible, we had terrible weather, storms and non stop rain but this hotel wraps you up like a warm blanket. Book your love it.

Ok, I had the pleasure of staying here a couple of nights. The first night (a Saturday and a lot…read moremore expensive) was paid for by the company and I paid for the second night. This place isn't cheap (averaging a £100 a night). The location, on Canterbury's high street, was excellent. My room was quite pleasant. The view (of a corrugated roof) wasn't exactly inspiring. Tea-making facilities are available in the room along with a few top-grade cookies and organic tea. The bed was comfortable but the height of it and the placement of the television (at a little over bed-height) when combined with my double chin made TV viewing a little uncomfortable. Poor planning. Breakfast was very nice. However, not without some problems. On the first day we went down at 10am expecting that half an hour would be plenty of time. Due to the slow service by the time our breakfast had arrived they had started clearing away the buffet items. My full English breakfast wasn't as full as it could have been. I only had one fried egg and there was no black pudding (kaszanka). Not that I am particularly fond of black pudding, but I would like to get some. I suspect I had been given someone else's break. Oh, the toast was burnt too. When I am staying in a classy hotel I expect them not to burn my toast. Breakfast on the second day was more agreeable, I arrived early to ensure I was able to take advantage of the buffet. The hotel's cocktail bar was very nice. The first night I had an egg nog and for a nightcap a banana rumba drink. Not cheap at ten pounds a shot. But, hey, I wasn't paying Checking out was a pain. The girl had trouble understanding that I wanted separate bills for each night's stay. I gave up in the end.

Plus, Patisserie Valeri across the street has some of the best pastries i've ever had. -The rooms were nice, a good size and modern. The beds were comfortable but a wee-bit narrow but nothing extreme. -The staff was O.K nothing to write home about but they are not very knowledgeable of the area but were fine overall -The restaurant looks like a complete waste of money but then again I didn't find the desire to eat there with so many options just down the street. All in all will stay there again when in canterbury
