I have been shopping here for years... but today I left this place in absolute tears. I have never had such an awful experience at a business in my life!!!! if I could give rose tree NEGATIVE stars I would. mind you, I have bought plenty of dresses and clothing from Rose Tree for dances in high school. I have been a customer for years, but it seems I was treated this way only because my money wasn't spent on them initially concerning my Wedding dress. for context, I came here a few months ago with my best friend so she could buy her wedding dress, they were so nice to us and accomodating but now I realize that was only because she was giving them her money... I had asked her (my friend) if they did alterations because I'm also getting married in 5 months and she had said yes and that they were really good. I got my wedding dress in Columbus and the place I got it from doesn't do alterations, they only sell the dresses. anyways, I picked it up a couple of weeks ago in Columbus and had immediately called rose tree to make an appointment for alterations. the girl on the phone took my name down and all of my information, asked where I had gotten my dress even, said to just come and bring it in etc. so the appointment was booked. well today, I walk in for my appointment at 12 holding my wedding dress in a gray bag. immediately get eyed because the dress I am holding isn't in the same dust bag as theirs I guess... I say Hello I have an appointment for alterations... she doesn't even look at the computer or ask for my name yet, she says "did you even get it here?" I'm immediately taken back, I say no but I spoke to someone over the phone a while ago and it seemed that it wouldn't be an issue. she continues to ask for my name and fiddles around on the computer for quite literally two seconds. then, says I don't have an appointment and the last appointment I had was from 2019 (my junior prom). I said "oh that's so odd I put the appointment in my phone calendar while I was on the phone with you all" she then says "let me see your dress" after acknowledging that it was not from Rose tree, I supposedly did not have an appointment and it was from Columbus... unzips my bag, rolling her eyes, takes two seconds to debate wether or not they will be willing to take me on after telling me no...then looks at me and says "yeah you're going to have to take you and your dress somewhere else we can't help you we are too busy to handle this right now", "we have a big store and a lot of dresses on our plate" why even look at my dress in the first place if that's the case? why make an appointment when I called? I then told her my wedding is in 5 months (September 2026) and I made this appointment in advance, even clarifying all of the details over the phone with the girl before I came to make sure it was all squared away and I wouldn't have to worry about anything. she says "whoever you spoke to told you wrong" then walks behind the counter and says "sorry we can't help you" and I then asked "do you have any suggestions about where I go?" she goes, "probably some dry cleaner" I say any specifics again? she says "are you not from here?? go to a dry cleaner"... I have lived here all my life. there were three women standing behind the counter, smirking and not saying a word during this entire interaction. I felt like I was in highschool again dealing with girls but yet I'm 23 being spoken to by a 60-70 year old woman terribly. I have never felt so disrespected at an establishment in my entire life. mind you I am only 23 years old, have worked with the public plenty and understand things happen, especially when you deal with a wide range of customers and attitudes, but I am not one of those people. I come into restaurants, stores, etc. with the best attitude and the most respect and have never been spoken to or treated this way in my life. it would have been different if I were rude in the slightest. but I wasn't. I left this place in tears and confused. I have never gone somewhere after calling and making sure everything was settled, being genuinely INTERROGATED by someone triple my age. I am so glad I looked at their Instagram and Yelp reviews before I bought from this place because it seemed questionable. I just called there and the lady answered the phone Rose Tree very harshly. She should say hello, this is Rose Tree, how may I help you? I asked her about a blazer I was about to buy from them online. It was already in my cart and my size. The blazer I wanted was Joseph Ribkoff and over $300. I don't think that's where they make their money. I think this store is Prom and Bridal dresses mostly because she didn't seem to want to make a sale. I call it a store because boutiques usually treat you well. She acted like a dress store and not a boutique. Boutiques want to keep your business and have a good clientele. After I told her the Style number, she puts me on hold, like it was such an inconvenience for her and comes back and says she has a size 8 and I said that won't work and I'm trying to explain to her that their website has every size available online and then she said all we have is a size 10. Do you want that? So she didn't know what size she had? So did they have a size 8 or 10? I was trying to explain to her that their website is wrong and it's in my cart right now and you have every size available online! She didn't want to hear it. Stopped in just to LOOK at some wedding jewelry and was told I would have to make an appointment as "that room was already closed." (Didn't need a dress, just jewelry). Granted, it was CLOSE to closing time, but the store WAS still open. I don't live anywhere close to this store, so making an appointment and returning was not an option. The sales associates were much more accommodating in the past. They must no longer care about making money. Either that, or they need to post more accurate store hours. read more

Clothes shopping is stressful for me, so shopping for my wedding dress made me extremely nervous. Walking in they automatically denied my scheduled and confirmed appt. My mother even had the name of the person she made the appointment with but still they took no responsibility for not being ready. And then Debbie was extremely unwelcoming and just made me feel like I was an annoyance. I know they have been in business for a very long time and if you are a beautiful skinny rich girl, I'm sure they are good as gold to you. So first off, if I could give this business a MINUS 5 stars I would. DO YOUR RESEARCH before booking with ANYONE! Read the reviews from multiple sources. I called the rose tree and made an appointment for my friend. I was told 3 people MAX were allowed in the dressing room. I assured the person on the phone that we had more than 3 and it was likely 5-6 coming that day. She said they WOULD be able to accommodate and work with this amount of people. When we came in we were immediately directed to the sale rack (as if we looked like we couldn't afford the regular priced items (I can assure you I have a 6-figure income and don't need to be in my "Sunday Best" to purchase any item in your over-priced, stuffy ass store). Anyway, I digress. The bride shows up about 5 min later with the rest of our party and we "attempt" to go into the wedding dress viewing area. We are immediately scoffed at and told to STOP! There is a 3-person max and the rest of you will need to wait out here (mind you the room is definitely big enough for probably 15 people, comfortably). Once the bride started marking her dresses the markings were removed from the dresses that were supposedly out of her FLEXIBLE PRICE RANGE (I'm guessing flexible isn't a word these ladies understand). We were then told it was too late in the year and she likely wouldn't be able to even get a dress in time (Yes I have them the wedding date when I made the appointment). While I was being "escorted" to the bathroom (yah, read that again) someone else from the party was told to leave the wedding show room when they had 1 foot in the door. The overall vibe was lacking severely and the uppity attitudes from most of the staff was received as well as a fart in church (the 2 younger women were actually quite pleasant though). If this store wants to CONTINUE to have an F - rating from the better business bureau (yah you read that right) then by all means continue as you were but I don't see how this place has managed to stay in business this long (I read back 10 years in HORROR STORIES from this business so check out https://www.beansinacan.com if you want to see these). The world would be a better place if people like this weren't in the business of customer service. I had an amazing experience. I happened to be in the area and called to see if I needed an appointment to try on wedding dresses and the woman on the line said yes. I totally understood it and was going to make one and then she asked me my date and it's 6m from now. She automatically told me no! I needed to come now and look at dresses. First I would like to say I had an amazing experience with his store. I live in Canada found a dress on their website that I absolutely loved. I could not find the dress in Canada, as Joseph Ribkoff has for some reason decided to miss the Canadian suppliers when it comes to this particular dress. In my opinion this is not the place to go for your wedding dress. When shopping for a wedding dress your experience should be a special one and a happy experience. For my daughter it was uncomfortable and the consultant was extremely rude. The woman had no personality and acting like she was annoyed that she was even working there. Even the pictures were taken showed her standing in the background with an awful look on her face . Never the less my daughter left this place and we went to Lexington where she found her beautiful dress and was treated in an appropriate manner and her day was very special as it should have been. If you want a wedding dress I wouldn't come here. They do have a great selection of dresses at all price points but it's just not worth it. The alteration process is hectic and honestly I don't think they really care about you and how feel. They just care about getting you in and getting you out as fast as they can. It's stressful. I chose to get my dress here and I live 3 hours away so it's a long drive but it was worth it to me. When I purchased my dress I was told I can't take it and have it altered anywhere but there, this was fine, their seamstress was great. However, I had my first alterations appointment and as a buster person I needed larger cups in my dress, they were supposed to be ordered that day. I paid for everything and I left. So my next appointment which I assumed would be my last, the cups weren't there they had no idea where they were and just kept telling me they arrived the day they were ordered? I explained and explained there's no way they came that day we ordered them that day. They acted like I didn't know when my appointment was and like I was wrong. I just said okay and whatever and made another appointment a month later. Before this appointment because I live so far away I called. I specifically asked if the cups I had ordered had been swapped and I asked for the dress to be checked. I was told they were switched to the larger cups. When I arrived and got in the changing room I honestly wasn't surprised to see the cups weren't changed. I had worried about it the entire time after I called that they didn't actually check it and just assumed they were changed because I ordered them 2 months ago. Frustrated because my wedding is in a month and I am not able to take off anymore work to drive 3 hours down here and i'm out of weekends I started crying. The woman working told me not to cry because it's just a cup, and that's true it is just a cup, but it really was an important part of my dress to make me feel more comfortable so it just made me more upset. She then assured me she could get the cups in quickly even though i'd been waiting 2 months for them already. I explained to the seamstress I simply cannot come back down here for this dress again. Just so happen that a pair of unused cups in the size I needed were available and the seamstress switched them out in an hour, so I could take my dress home that day. I obviously appreciated this and it was nice to just be able to be done with it. I was really upset how it was handled I am an understanding person I work in retail, I understand when things don't work out. I spent a decent amount of money for my dress and it's pieces and the alterations, I really didn't deserve to be herded around in the hectic dressing rooms and promised things are fixed and then when they're not have it seem like it's not a big deal or it's my fault. I really hate giving a negative review to any small business but I truly feel it is earned. This is my second time shopping and purchasing a dress from this shop. Both times were the same experience. I only agreed to shop a second time because I had hoped that the first time was an isolated incident. My hope is that the owners of this shop reads this and considers making much needed changes to customer service. the sales staff truly needs to be trained on respect, dignity, and basic manners toward the customer. They are pushy, rude, and disrespectful. They don't even give you time to try the dress on before they are knocking on the door asking if you are going to buy the dress. They reached me a pink slip to begin filling out for purchase before I had decided to buy. I have no words to explain this experience other than I felt so stressed and angry when I left the shop. What was supposed to be a joyous, fun time with my daughter was ruined because of this experience. Unfortunately, I purchased a dress from this establishment. My friend and I drove 2 hours to visit this boutique and it was a waste of gas. Dont get me wrong, the inventory was pretty and they had very nice things, but the staff was extremely rude. The second we walked in, I felt unwelcomed. The owner gave us a look as if we shouldn't be there and every employee acted like we were committing a crime as we looked around. We went to pick out our senior prom dresses and found quite a few that we liked, but as soon as we touched one, an employee was down our backs as if we were trying to steal a whole prom dress. And once we got a dressing room, they wouldn't give us our own and made us share the smallest dressing room i've ever been in, they didn't go five minutes without asking us to put them back. Overall just an awful experience, they didn't even give us a chance to look at then once we had them on. They weren't helpful in the slightest, and had major attitude problem. I've never felt the need to write a review anywhere even having a bad experience but this place really blew me away with the way they ran their store. I bought a $200 pair of sleeves from Rosetree for my wedding dress that I bought in another state because I just moved back to WV. They would not allow me to try on my dress (even though half of it was bought at their store!) in order to find a veil. I told them I would love to buy a $400 veil from them, but I just needed to see how it looked with my dress. She said, "Well you'll just have to look at pictures. This place made my wedding dress experience miserable. They butchered my super beautiful dress. It needed to be taken in a couple sizes and each time I drove 3 hours one way to try it on after their alterations it was worse than the last time. I am extremely disappointed that I gave any money to The Rose Tree. The salespeople were dishonest and truly do not care about customer service. The Rose Tree claimed it was ordering a Size 0 for my wedding (in a dress we later found out isn't made in a Size 0). After a late arrival (and being charged for rush shipping) the dress did not fit, and it became very clear that they had taken the floor-model Size 10 dress and altered it. The dress had to undergo $630 in alterations to be wearable. The veil came with a hole in it, and we were sold a used floor-model belt and headband for full price. We have discussed the situation with the personnel, but they refuse to refund any money because we did not take the dress back to them immediately. But why would we? We knew they were being dishonest about the dress the whole time. Save yourself the stress and go somewhere else. read more

Wife and daughter drove from Lexington KY and bought a dress. Left it for alterations and returned the next weekend to pick it up. Customer service was very poor. After paying for alterations previous weekend they were told that the bra cup was extra 26.00 and added after alterations. This was not stated the weekend before. When trying on the dress you could see the bra cup. They did not make any effort to adjust and wife will have to sew. Salesperson was very rude and actually told her that she did not have to get it altered there! After coming out of the upscale big box stores looking for a formal gown unhappy, I came here. And it turned my mood around. I really dislike shopping for stuff like this and was having an awful time at the mall stores. I was able to buy the dress, the shoes, and jewelry for a very reasonable price. I was also very impressed with the different price points they appealed to. The store sure did have some $4000+ gowns, but it also had a wonderful selection in the $150-$250 range! I definitely would not suggest RoseTree Boutique for business! I bought a prom dress from them a few years ago because I couldn't find it anywhere else. I had terrible service! I felt like I was being judged while doing the fitting, especially since I was with a friend so they didn't expect me to be making a purchase during that visit. I came back the next day with my mom and we had my measurements taken and made a down payment to put it in layaway. When it arrived it didn't fit well, and they suggested ridiculous alterations. I chose to go to someone else because of all the things I had heard about issues with their altering things incorrectly. They also ordered my shoes in the wrong color, but I was able to have the correct ones shipped in in time. My main reasoning that has made me certain not to shop there, however, is because I worked there for a whopping three days! Just after I was hired I was introduced to the main manager, who in response to my first name said "Oh no, we already have someone by that name, we can't have two." After just being hired not even a minute prior, I didn't know how to respond at all. She then asked what my middle name was, and I told her. She told me I was to go by my middle name and if I told anyone my actual first name, I just couldn't work there. My first day after being hired, I was immediately put to work after my interview, unable to use my cell phone, my mom was very concerned after not hearing from me for hours. I had to work about five hours that evening. The other times I worked, I was at the Huntington Mall location. Only one of my coworkers was relatively kind to me, and acknowledged me in general. I was told I needed to be "aggressive" with the customers. Not assertive, but aggressive. I was uncomfortable with this because I hate when I feel like I'm being stalked and pushed to buy things while I am the customer. I also had some nasty looks and mean tones from the girls I worked with because I didn't always respond to them because they were calling my middle name. When I didn't respond it made me look bad! But I wasn't allowed to even tell my coworkers that my name was not what they had been told. I was not provided any sort of schedule, and one time even missed work because I didn't know they wanted me to work that day. When I came in short notice, I had on a nice top, black dress shorts, and nice flats. I was scolded for wearing shirts and told if I wore them again I'd be fired. It was also very encouraged to wear high heels, the one day I did wear heels they actually had me outside the store on a latter in a dress and the heels cleaning the windows in the mall store. This was very uncomfortable as I felt that I may fall and was worried about the fact that I was wearing a dress! I also was snapped at because someone moved the box of swifter pads I had out while swifffer-ing the floor. And nobody owned up to it! Rude! Many of the girls would take their high heels off and work barefoot when the boss wasn't around. Classy. I didn't appreciate the way I was talked down to, or how I was expected to treat customers. They occasionally would make catty remarks about customers when they left. They didn't like that I didn't chime in, but I didn't want to join in on their nasty gossip. I quit. I waited and waited and they did not contact me about how to get my paycheck. And I was getting very annoyed, I finally drove to Ceredo and requested my paycheck, where the girl that spoke to me looked at me like I was crazy because she didn't know who I was and didn't want to let me speak to the manager without knowing why. After finally receiving my one pay check, made out to my middle name, I was so relieved to be free! After that experience I knew for sure that I never wanted to shop with them again. I guess I just didn't fit their mold. There are plenty of other boutiques in the area I would highly suggest over RoseTree. For formal dresses, absolutely check out Yellow Brick Road in Huntington, the service there is impeccable! You feel like a goddess after the treatment you get at RoseTree Boutique. If you want a cute outfit, accessories, or a less formal dress, go to Runway Couture, Inspired, and Heels all located in Pullman Square. Your service is better pretty much anywhere you go. I am in a wedding in July and the bride asked us to get our bridesmaids dresses at Rose Tree, and I have to say that my experience over the past few months has not been a good one. All of the bridesmaids except for one are from out of town, and Rose Tree acted like they have never dealt with an out-of-town bridesmaid before. My bride left the styles of the dresses up to the individual bridesmaids, only requesting a certain color and fabric for us to get. As such, I searched the dresses on the website, and because I was told by the bride that I can get a 20% discount as part of the wedding party, I decided to call and order my dress instead of just completing the order online. Big Mistake. First, the sales woman told me that because another bridesmaid had already ordered, I could only have a 10% discount. We would have had to choose our dresses at the same time to get the 20% discount, which would have been rather difficult as we both live out of town and not in the same place. I didn't decide to quibble because, hey, it's still a 10% discount, you know? I ordered the dress at the beginning of April, paid for it in full, and have been waiting to receive my dress ever since. The wedding is the 14th of July, and I still haven't received it and we have 2 1/2 weeks before the wedding. Getting worried because I may need to have the dress altered, which takes at least a week, I called Rose Tree yesterday to discover the status of my dress. I discovered that my dress is due in sometime this week, and that I was going to have to pay a $20 shipping fee as well as a manufacturer surcharge that kicks in at size 18. To truth, I only ordered a size 18 (a size up) because I thought alterations would be easier. In any case, the sales woman I spoke to when ordering my dress did not mention a shipping fee or the surcharge, so I refused to pay them. The sales woman that I was speaking to yesterday then got snippy with me and said that the surcharge is written all over the online site, so she didn't know how I didn't see it. While I was waiting for her to call me back, I went to the dress online and found the surcharge information, which was under the link to the online sales policy. Who reads those! I informed her of that when she called me back, and she said that when you order online, it forces you to read the policy and sign electronically to indicate you had done so, but because I didn't order online, I didn't see it. She also said that because I'm an "unusal case" (oh, my gosh! An out-of-town bridesmaid! How will we EVER handle one of those!), they were going to take the shipping charge off, but that she absolutely couldn't take the manufacturer charge off. Since it was less than $10, I went ahead and paid it even though it is ridiculous and prejudicial. I just didn't want to have to deal with them anymore. What I should have done was require them to rush the shipping since it's less than a month before the wedding and it's now going to be difficult to get the dress altered if I need to. Needless to say, I will NEVER deal with Rose Tree again and I highly recommend that no one else does either. read more

This place has horrible customer service and dishonest business practices! The dresses are put on racks by color, it is very confusing. The majority of bridal and bridesmaid dresses they have to try on are a standard size 10. Customers have to try on dresses and use multiple clips to hold them on. Its hard to tell what a normal dress size would look on a size 2, 4, or 6. They offer a fun "bridesmaids day" for the bride's bridesmaids to try on dresses, then offer little to no customer service with finding the dresses and trying them on. I thought our group of bridesmaids would be assigned a salesperson to help us out, but we weren't. No one introduced themselves or acted happy to see the bride again (who had spent over $1000 on her bridal gown there). We were left to sift through dresses and find the styles we had seen in the magazine on our own. When we did find a representative and ask for help, many of the styles we liked were not in the store. FURTHERMORE, they allow you to make a down payment on the dress then pay for the rest of it later. However, they do not send a monthly bill to remind you about the cost of your dress or where to send it. They rush you to sign a payment contract then never send a single bill. I paid off the dress in full, months before the wedding. Then I was called and informed that I owed interest for the months that I did not pay. My dress that was supposed to be $120, ended up $135 without any verbal indication that interest would be charged. This place is HORRIBLE. Go to Davids Bridal or somewhere that has dresses in all sizes, and willing sales people. read more
