PLEASE READ BEFORE ATTENDING Please do your research before getting involved with this "church." My experience left me extremely concerned, and honestly, it felt more like a business than a church. One of the biggest things that bothered me was the way Jesus and Christianity were talked about during the service. There were comments and jokes that came across as sarcastic and disrespectful toward Jesus. In my opinion, the pastor was making a mockery of Jesus rather than honoring Him. That was extremely disturbing to witness in a place that claims to be teaching Christianity. The atmosphere was also very unusual. Before the message even started, everyone was instructed to repeat phrases from the screen, raise their hands in specific ways, and hold up their Bibles while following the instructions. The pastor even told the new visitors something along the lines of, "I know this might look weird, but this is our ritual before we get into the Word." I found that very strange and uncomfortable. There were also speakers throughout the property -- inside the building, outside, in the bathrooms, and even in the parking lot. With the constant audio, repeated phrases, hand motions, and instructions coming from the screens, the entire experience felt very trance-like and unsettling to me. Another major red flag was the amount of emphasis placed on money and donations. There was a presentation explaining multiple ways to donate, and the welcome materials seemed to focus heavily on tithing and giving financially. What stood out to me was how little I saw about actually teaching the Gospel compared to the emphasis on giving. The pamphlets even asked for credit card information, which I had never experienced at a church before. read more

I really hate to give a low review but I've never felt the need to walk out of service before today. This was my 2nd time here and the first time I came I remember it was fine. It's a bit ways out from me but today they happened to have a guest speaker, the pastor who introduced him told us to go into this with an open heart and leave put our blue or red hats away as to not have a political point of view. And he mentioned this twice. So half way through the speaker talking I realized why, the speaker kept going on and on about how things were aligned for Trump to be chosen into office comparing it to Jehu a warrior king from Old Testament. He mentioned Hilary Clinton and Kamala Harris in another comparison. He also said "the left side is lost and too far gone but there also people on conservative side now lost" I have never been to service that talks like this. Maybe it was this 1 time or maybe this just isn't for me at all but I couldn't continue to hear him talk about political figures so I left. And I now probably will not visit here again. My partner and I came here for the Saturday evening mass at 5pm. I love that they offer evening masses!!!! So awesome for people that are not morning people. I don't do mornings at all and can never get up for church lol The mass was pretty long. It started with worship music, then went into prayer, and followed with the message. Everyone was very friendly. I think my only concern was that the entire time we were there, we only went over 7 versus from the Bible. Majority of the time the message was please donate. Now, I understand that the church needs donations and stuff, but when the prayer turns into "let's pray for a million dollars" that doesn't really sit well with me. I get that the million dollars is for the church to expand and get the app going in different languages, etc. But did we really just pray for a million dollars? My partner and I found that to be really odd. But overall, I think the intention of this church is good. There's very nice people that run it and attend. We felt welcome by all. Lots of diversity at this church, which is nice. It would have been nice to have more Bible versus rather than so much "we need money" talk. I absolutely love this church! I used to attend the Rock Fullerton years ago but started attending another church in Whittier. I attended this church for about 10+ years and the pastor was one of the best pastors I ever experienced. He was annoited and taught the Word in a way that changed my life. Because he taught Scripture! Then pastor passed the pulpit down to his son I didn't feel connected anymore. However, at The Rock (Fullerton) Pastor Jerry preaches God's Word, not stories or simply motivational speeches! While his preaching is motivational he preaches Scripture! Do NOT come here if you have a disability with a service animal. You will be harassed and told "this is private property" then asked to leave. I came here with my friend who has a disability brought his service dog was judged INSTANTLY and asked "where is your card and papers?". I felt unwanted and discriminated. I used to attend this church back in 2018 and I loved the experience and the people there. In fact one of my friends recommended me to this church and later learned there's a Korean church on that campus so I decided to attend this church and make it my home church. Unfortunately mid 2019 everything went down hill. Here are the details. When I was serving at the Korean church and attended the service there, I had to report multiple noise complaints almost every week and I want to bring it up to the interns, but guess what! Nothing was being done. Most of those noises comes from high school kids and younger and I told myself and the Korean congregation and we have to take actions. Another issue I want to bring up is that I noticed there was other congregation using the room we used for Sunday the night before, when I came in there was trash everywhere and the chairs were all over the place and to me that's disrespect. Especially for the church that needs to use it and prepare for service. I brought this issue up to one of the staffs at the English congregation and one of them asked me, 'is there a problem?' That's something you should not asked someone who is trying to get answers and asking multiple times (nicely). What is going on? Also pastor Jerry was aware about both situations and didn't do crap. Lastly, January 2020. This is when everything fell apart. When pastor Jerry announced about the pandemic and how it's going to affect the whole world, particularly usa, the church is starting to backlash on me, my Korean pastors, and the Korean congregations. I noticed week after week, people are looking at me funny and start talking trash about Asians. For me I couldn't handle this inflation. One time, I was bullied by teenagers and few other parents of those teenagers and all I could remember is that Pastor Jerry and his security guards didn't do anything after witnessing about what happened. I'm guessing they all hate me to. But that's okay because this review will let you all know that Pastor Jerry, the staffs, and the Securities don't care and like Asians. I love the Rock Church in Anaheim. I no longer attend here. I attend another church. For the time I was here, it was a lovely experience, and I made good friends. I still talk to him today. When there are conferences and events, I still stop by. They had a stellar discipline called Operation Solid Lives. I believe this is the stepping stone to the church I am in today. Don't let the fact that it is a large church dissuade you from coming; if you attend a few times you'll discover it is a warm, welcoming and friendly place that will feel like home. It is a solid, supportive church that teaches straight from the Bible. I'm so thankful that I started coming here just over a year ago; I have attended many other churches off and on over the years but feel I've learned and experienced things at a whole new level here! There are currently two morning services and an evening service, there is nursery care, preschool and kid's church (Sunday school) for grades K-12. Details are on their website. The mission and focus of the church is "Building solid lives, everywhere." Come, hear and do" is emphasized: coming to hear Jesus' sayings and doing them--not just going to church to hear something and then go on living the same life you always have. You are encouraged to read the Bible everyday, take notes on what verses or passages stood out to you, and what you learned from them, and to take notes on what you learned you from service. They put together a daily bible reading plan and journal to facilitate this. All Churches need funds to operate, and All Churches, every one of them, have a time during service to ask for these tithes. The Rock has never asked us for continual additional tithes and donations on top of that like many other larger Churches. My previous Church had a tithing session directly for the Pastor! I went to this church for 6 years and started seeing it wasn't about God, it was about how Jerry Dirmann the senior pastor running this as a business. Out of the 6 years I went to this church I realized I learned to serve God, which is true and comes from the bible and to give my money to this place. Again which is in the bible, but Jerry is using that to have you serve him and to give him money so he can built his business. I will provide you with one example that should convince anybody who is looking to go here or is going here. I will ask you one question and if you are a true Christian you will know what the answer to my question is. Does God EVER lie? We all should know the answer is NO. Even Jerry preached about this and mentioned it many times in his services. So if God never lies then what happen when Jerry prophesied that God told him to declare taking that property in downtown Anaheim that was $4M and wanted all of us to give him enough money to buy it, Jerry got so desperate at one point he even said for you to cash in or borrower from your 401K to give to him to buy the building and he actually even convinced 3 gentlemen to get on stage to say God even told them that this is God who wants The Rock to buy that building. Jerry even came up with a few more desperate moves to try and convince you and I that this is what God wants and that he will make it happen. So again if Jerry is standing up and prophesying this in service to you and me that this is what God wants and obviously it didn't happen then who is lying? This is a black and white question, there should be no grey areas. So either you believe that Jerry is lying or God is lying right? I'm a Christian and God DOES NOT LIE or make false prophecies. This is just a simple FACT, if I'm wrong then proof to me that God lies or makes false prophecies. I will 100% support any true Christian Pastor and church, but it makes me very angry and upset when a person like Jerry Dirmann take advantage of the bible and God to built their business and you should too. Because the bottom line is that he is using you and taking advantage of you as well. The worst part is that Jerry is making us true Christians look bad and making a bad name for us Christians and this is something I know for sure God would not want or be pleased with. I feel sorry for the people here. They are so mislead. The pastor would of been a great lawyer. He is a genius at quoting scriptures out of context to get his way. His downfall is when he wanted the 4 millions dollar building in Anaheim. He prophesied that God told him to declare taking property. So when it didn't happen; what did he do? He said that God promises something better. Well, common sense tells you God doesn't make false prophecies and change his mind . What is the definition of a false prophet? He prophesied something that didn't happen? Don't worry, the staffs here are brilliant at turning it against you. They will say things like "I don't bad mouthed ministers" when you call out false teachers. They forget that when you call them out, they are never ministers to begins with. This church is a perfect example of a Church that is fallen from grace. Christianity in general is a faith about "YOU SERVING GOD" and "NOT GOD SERVING YOU".... The staffs here are brilliant at using scriptures to justify anything they want. For example, a female preacher here use to blame people who are still singles in their 30s & 40s. She implied that those people are not good at hearing God's voices. So what happened when the same thing happen to her? She comes up with a cd call "Single for now" and it is a big hit. Genius! This Church is a revolving door and so many comes and go. I feel sorry for any human being who thinks "Christianity is all about God meeting all your greeds." Many are dying for the faith all over the world and what a shame it is for these people to use scriptures and think they can manipulate God. Even Jesus asked the Father to "let this cup pass me" and the Father said no. Christianity is about thy will be done. Anyone who tries to point out any error to the staffs about their wrongdoings is met with resistance . I feel very sorry for this Church. You can serve here for years and the senior pastor still won't have a relationships with you. Ask many people who serve in the parking structure or greeter. The pastor is never to be found in the foyer and arrive & leave though the back door. He doesn't even know your first name and you could be serving here for years . So when he wants the money, it is kind of hard. The staffs don't want to get messy by dealing with people's brokenness. The people here are nice and very good at making first impression. I truly believe the pastor is faithful to his wife and a GOOD DAD & FAMILY MAN. I will give him that. I will pray for them and God have mercy. Hope they repent for we all have to meet God face to face soon since life is short. This church used to be great, but the more they grew, the less focus they had on the needs of the members. It was more about saying and not doing. People began to be the last priority of the church and unless you were part of the "cliques" then you had no say and didn't matter. Way too much drama going on over there. People were very fake. I am currently looking for a church that I can call home so I decided to give this church a try. I attended this past Sunday. On first glance from the outside, my first impressions were that it seemed like a very big church because it has English, Korean, Spanish, and Vietnamese service. I was excited to learn more about this church and see what it was about. Let me tell you upfront right now: this is NOT a church; it is a business. When I walked in and found a seat, one of the first things I noticed was a presentation by the church on 5 different ways to donate to the church. After giving a cursory glance at the welcome pamphlets, I noticed that there really wasn't anything about the gospel. Instead, the pamphlets emphasized tithing and giving money to the church. I thought it was weird that so much emphasis was given on giving money to the church. The pamphlets even asked for credit card numbers! This is the first "church" that I have been to which has asked for credit card numbers. This is not what Christianity is about. However, I still decided to give this church a chance and see what the message would be about. Before the service began, I started getting a strange feeling about the environment. It felt like a cult because we were all told to say things outloud exactly as it was written on the screen, hold up our hands in a certain way, and all hold up our Bibles and follow the prompts on the screen. The message this past Sunday was on Genesis 1:27-28. I thought the message would be in regards to how God created man in His own image. However, it focused on how people were created mainly to be given sovereignty and rule over the earth and that somehow this was tied to tithing and giving money to the church. I was amazed by how much the Bible could be manipulated by money hungry people of this world. After seeing how much the word of the Bible was manipulated, I had to walk out. Main point: DO NOT BE FOOLED BY THIS "CHURCH." This is NOT a church. If you are looking to learn about the gospel, you will not find it here. Instead, at this "church" you will hear about how much you should tithe and to give up all your money just so you can be "saved." This is NOT the gospel. Be very wary! Do your research! read more

I am not going to drag this church through the mud. I attended here for a year and at the beginning, thoroughly enjoyed my time there. I attended different levels of OSL, served, etc. Towards the latter part of the year I came across some major issues. First, the tithing doctrine. Although this is a false doctrine, the bigger problem I had was the way the Rock pastors pushed this upon the congregation. There was more than a handful of times where the sermon alone (over an hr long) was dedicated to getting the congregation to give 10%. As Jerry Dirmann was very clear that God told him the Rock Forum was going to be theirs, the push for the congregation to give more to meet the financial requirements to purchase it became more pressing. It was to the point where you can expect at least twenty minutes each Sunday "lecturing" about giving. There Rock lost a lot of members during this, as majority of it's congregates felt deep inside that the Forum purchase was premature... but what do we know? Other issues with the church is the "Name it and claim it, health, and prosperity" doctrine that preach... I was on board at the beginning, but did see many flaws- the response from the elders was to just have faith. That doctrine is evil in my opinion. The main thing I took from the Rock was the encouragement to read the bible daily and journal. All though this is not franchised by the rock (Originally called lectio divina, started by the Catholic church), this did help in my life in trying to please Jesus. As I write this a couple years later, I am thankful I met a great friend there, Nhan. He was detrimental in my walk seeking the truth, as he pressed me with tough questions. I tried all I could to counter his points while being humble in the mix... This ultimately led me home to fullness of Truth... The Catholic Church. The One church throughout the world, practiced in every nation, that was instituted by Jesus Himself, and as promised, the gates of hell has not prevailed. I recommend everyone to do a history check. Follow your church's history, see how far it dates back... You'll find only one that goes back to the time when Jesus instituted the church upon Peter and said, "And on this Rock (Peter) I shall build my church." Be Blessed. read more

I was attending the rock for about 4 years straight. I decided to leave my old church because the rock used more scripture than anyother church that i've been to. I took all the three level courses that high schoolers had to take In which costed 45-75 dollars a class for a 4-6 week course. In which the church highly endorses to grow in the lord. The problem with that is, one man's interpretation of the bible (pastor Jerry) is what people are learning from. And the reason people swallow what he says is because they have no knowledge or understanding of the word themselves and thus passively obey and do as he says. Yes, this chuch makes you read your bible everyday but you as an individual can't make sense of passages contradicting those of the pastor because you go back to what you were taught in the level courses and assume you don't know best. The truth is the holy spirit teaches you and gides you to make sense out of everything that you learn from the bible itself. I personally don't know the true intensions of the pastor but i know that what he says about tithing and offerings is completely unscriptural. God gives blessings to us even when we are unfaithful. While we were still sinners he loved us so much that he gave his only son begotten son so that we can have the chance to reconciliate us with him in eternity. I left the rock once after i understood that it is by faith alone that God loves me. And that he has forgiven every sin from both the past and the future and even the presence. The rock completely twists scripture, gets passages out of context in a way that manipulates people in believing that they lack something that God wants. And thus placing the congregation in a desperate giving mode in order to make them feel good about themselfs or to get the hope of satisfation. Ephesians 2:8 (ESV) says "For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God". Another thing It appears that this church is a special interest church. The church is runned like a business. The invitation cards are in business form, they have no scripture what so ever. The card just simply says, "inspiring messages, friendly people, and a fast growing chuch". The pastor is in a suit for crying out loud! Everyone is pretty much dressed in the same way almost to the point of conformity. This chuch is very much like a cult, in which shockingly I was once part of. When i attended the rock I was led to believed the rock was the only good church in Anaheim. I was the person who told his friends to leave the church that they were attending in order to go to mine (which was the rock). The raising of the bible and saying a pledge is totally cult like. From my experience there is no sincere love it's really hypocritical. The main excitement is being part of something huge that grows almost every 6 months. The only thing keeping people from leaving is the growing church itself. read more

This Ministry changed my life. I just graduated Level 3 Discipleship and turned my whole life around. Pastor Jerry delivers the most real and "no holds barred' message that tell us God's plan, and how to stay away from Man's. I'm one with a wicked past and without CONSTANT support my mind starts to get lost into temptation. I have learned to pray from this Church, 20 minutes minimum per day i what we did in Level 3 and EVERYTHING in my life changed. I highly recommend ANYONE, even from other churches to join Operation Solid Lives (Discipleship) I learned so much about my life and now that I have graduated it makes me realize how I MUST stay in the Word. This world is vicious and society here in Orange County is out of control. All my friends are sucked into sin and their blind to the Word of God, in fact they belittle me for it. This is our time to stand up and get spiritually fit and I get the best workout here at the Rock. I used to be insecure and worked out every day and took spent pay checks on supplements to feel better. Well now I have been able to recognize WHY I did these things and though I am not perfect, I am finding ways to correct my wrongs and in most cases, stop myself before I even think of acting them out. Pastor David taught Level 3 this time around, it was my 3rd time trying and God showed me a new vision. Pastor David was able to help me through so many things, these Pastors are REAL men from God, I even told Pastor David I feel he was sent from Heaven to minister to people. Don't ever miss Pastor Carl in action too, he will make you leave feeling like you can take on the World with love. This church is so diverse, none of the Pastors are alike, they all have a different style and you get what a struggling Christian needs to stay strong and fight off SATAN!!! I'm starting to listen more and just surrender. I see too many people losing this major victory. If you can surrender to God EVERYTHING will be ok, don't trust me trust God. A few years back I was going through a low point in my life and didn't know who or where to turn to. My brother had been attending the Rock for a couple years, and invited me to attend a service with him. I truthfully was a bit nervous to attend church, but decided to give the Rock a try. I figured that hearing a positive message from the Bible could help me. I attended one service and left feeling encouraged, and hopeful. I decided to continue attending, and ended up taking Level 1 of the discipleship class that was offered. I am so thankful to Pastor Jerry for his Bible teachings in Level 1....it was in this class that I began to understand the Love of God and it was made so personal. It was exactly what I had been searching for in my life. For the first time in my life I began to feel hope and joy! I have been attending the Rock ever since and I am still blown away and growing from the weekly messages and from learning the importance of having a personal relationship with Jesus. This is a great church i started to come here when I was only about 10-11 years old in the kids group classes and now I am now 22 attending the adult services. It is an amazing place to learn about God's grace and be in a good spirit community. I would absolutely recommend this church to anyone. They treat you as if you were family. This is my home church since I've moved from Northern California to Southern. I was able to get re-baptized as a born again Christian my first Sunday here. It was a great spur of the moment thing to do! As they offered it after the first sermon. I got to meet Pastor Jerri while I waited in line to be baptized. He and my friend Cari did a prayer circle with me and also touched my head and prayed for me (I was going through a spiritual warfare). When my be and I miss Sunday morning service, we catch the 6pm night one. We are always looking forward to hearing Sunday night's word! We enjoyed inspiring and uplifting musical selections of praise and worship to God, along with a testimony of encouragement and faith by Don Piper; author of "90 Minutes In Heaven". This was our first time visiting. Everyone was friendly and welcoming. We will return again for another visit. I began going to the Rock in August of 2000. It was a relatively small church with a very loving and caring pastor and leaders. I have watched this church grow...I mean really grow. I gave the church a year, as they suggested and I have to tell you it changed my life completely. When I began coming I was at the lowest place in my life. My health was in shambles. I lived on pain killers from an accident I had at work. I had an encounter with the law because of a very stupid spur of the moment action involving another human. I hated myself. I often thought of suicide and unsuccessfully tried more than once to do myself in. I hated myself so much I frequently would pound on my face with heavy objects, bruising myself to the point that people thought I was a victim of domestic violence. The church I had been attending for nearly 20 years split leaving many of us in confusion and fearful of being a part of any other church. Lost, hurting and without hope of ever becoming a person loved by others and especially God, I entered the doors of The Rock. I watched the worship team grow into an amazing group of men and women who were given awesome songs from the LORD. I watched a pastor who spent time with God and grow in The WORD. Operation Solid Lives was launched. The classes were packed with lessons from the Bible on building solid lives in Christ. Through the love of the pastors and members of the church I began to see that God really loved me - mistakes and imperfections did not disqualify me from God's love. Yes the church has had imperfect things going on. In regards to the remarks about them trying to get money from the people it is not as some have portrayed it. The money is not for the self gain of the leaders - it is for expanding the work of God. YES for awhile the talk of the Forum and money got a little overwhelming BUT if one looked they could see the heart of the pastors to expand and reach more people, especially in that area. Although we did not remain there too long we helped pave a way for the church who now occupies the Forum. Jerry Dirmann is one of the most humble, compassionate and uncompromising preachers I have ever been under. When he is wrong he is quick to ask for forgiveness and admit he was wrong. With a large church it is necessary to be structured. Truly it does have to be run like a business. The decisions they make are not spontaneous nor are they made without meeting with whoever is involved. Be careful what you say about pastors and churches. If you are offended by something they did or said go to them personally and express your concerns. That's the Bible way. read more

Reading these reviews in an interesting study in human nature. Jesus said to His followers that they would be hated by the world because of Him. Also He said that in the last days, evil would be called good, and good would be called evil. Now we have all read those horrible news stories about people laughing at someone who has fallen on the train tracks and refusing to help them. It is clear enough to everyone that that is not loving at all. It is a clear and ugly evil, and a total lack of Love. Now imagine if I was to believe so strongly that God is real, and He loves us, and we are accountable to Him, because we are His creation. If I were to believe that so strongly that I was unwilling to call it belief, because I know it to be fact. Set aside for a moment, all your arguments about how I could know that. Just suppose I am sincere. If I know that all that God requires is for you to realize your error, and ask Him to forgive you and do your best to follow His rules (being forgiven for your mistakes along the way). I also know in this supposition that Hell is real, and God did not create it for you but for truly horribly wicked demons, who only want to destroy you and take you with them to hell. Now this itself may seem like foolishness to you, if you are not as convinced as I am. But again just suppose that I am totally convinced, and the Pastors are totally convinced of these things. Would it be hatred for us to say to you, "Hey, what you are doing is wrong, it is Sin, you need to ask for God's help and forgiveness, because otherwise your going to an eternal place of torment, which God does not want you to go to." What if I said, "Hey brother, God created us male and female, and he kinda made the pieces fit together in an obvious way, but you are missing it ... He loves you but you are rejecting Him, and His truth. "... "If you don't change your mind and change your ways, and seek His forgiveness as I have, there is no other escape from that horrible place of torment" Would that be hatred? Or, would that demonstrate that I love you enough to warn you, and to try to get you on the path to safety. "Well what about the Money", you say? Well, if you believe that we have taken up the cause of the Creator God, who loves us, to get the truth out to everyone, to save them from death and torment, and if you believe Gods promise in the bible that if we were to give a tenth (tithe) of our income that he would bless us far beyond what we give... If you are convinced by the Bible, you have not been coerced, but convinced that it is true, and if you are like me you have proven God's faithfulness to His promises. So yes, The Rock will try to convince you that we have taken up the cause of God, and that God want us to participate with Him in His cause as we also are in relationship with Him. And The Rock will try to convince you of the Truth, that if you trust God and throw even some of the Money that you have into this cause that you now believe in, that God will in turn bless the 90% you have, so that is stretches further, and bless your finances and your business. We believe it, we are doing it, we have seen it, we are blessed. We want you to be blessed to, and we want your Money to help with the cause of supporting a place where more can be convinced. The simple truth is, that the Church's financial books are open. You will see that we are blessed, but a closer look will reveal that the money is being used for the cause of spreading the bad news of the deception this world finds itself in, and The Good News of God's love and forgiveness to those who will trust in Him. If we believe as we say we believe, then to try to convince you is the only option that Love has. If we let you continue in error to your doom, then we have not loved you, but rather considered your life not worth saving. Now about the "Credit Cards". The Rock teaches strictly against the error of falling into credit card debt. Some of the messages have referred to dependance on credit as believing in Jehovah Visa rather than Jehovah Jireh (Which means our provider). Interesting thing, I have been going to The Rock for years. I had multiple tens of thousands of dollars in credit card debt. Because of the teachings at The Rock . . . and because of what I learned hearing The Word of God, and my obedient tithing and good stewardship, I am now debt free (with the exception of my mortgage alone). But, I carry no cash beyond some $5 bills to give to anyone who asks for help. If I spend any money it is done with my debit card (MasterMoney Card), through the mechanism of a "Credit Card" payment machine. Now some, in the name Christianity, and in the "name" of Jesus, have done and said evil things, seeking only profit, and deceiving people.
