The food is consistently excellent and there is an opulent feel to the decor. I particularly like the relaxed ambience. Fast food is not for me. I am quite old now despite my remarkably youthful appearance. There is too much speed in modern life for my liking. The Rose of India experience is like stepping back to a previous age of elegance. It is one of the best indian restaurants in Essex I have eaten at with efficient and friendly staff. The food is excellent with some interesting new dishes and plenty of traditional curries too. There are also plenty of options for vegetarians. The music is very nice and also the takeaways are cheaper than most restaurants in chelmsford as they give 30% discount on collection. They do not have a car park which is a bit of a pain but there are several car parks within walking distance
