Not too oily, not too spicy, they cook fresh food into a perfect blend of traditional Chinese flavours, as well as adding a few novel dishes of their own making for originality. Everything, from the chicken in black bean sauce through to the asparagus with cashew nuts, is cooked to perfection... And as such, it's no wonder that whenever I drive past on a Friday night the restaurant is always packed! While the restaurant is nothing special in its own right, the food speaks for itself... Beef and mushrooms with noodles is my usual. The portions are really generous and unlike a lot of other takeaways, they don't skimp on the beef and round it out with a ton of mushrooms. Today I also ordered prawn crackers (they aren't given for free) for an extra £1.20. I won't get them again--it tasted like they aren't ordered very often and had been there for a while. I bought my Diet Coke from the newsagent next door. I've never been able to reach the restaurant by phone to order lunch because nobody ever answers, so I have to walk there. This isn't a big deal for me since they're super close and cook everything in about 7-minutes, but I have also gone around during their lunch hours (12-2pm) and found it closed. It's a small family operation and I assume with only a husband/wife team running the show, if one is sick or they need to do something else during business hours, the restaurant stays shuttered for the day. I know this all sounds bad, but honestly, for the price, portions, and overall quality of the lunch special it's worth popping in every now and again.

You can see the staff freshly preparing their dumplings in the kitchen and you can taste the freshness in the pan-fried dumplings or pasty. The shanghai pork dumplings on the other hand was the only item that seemed either overly steamed or cooked after significant refrigeration as the dumplings had hardened.  The chive is interestingly dominant in both the fish and chive dumplings and the egg and chive pasty whilst the coconut is pleasantly fragrant and significantly sweet in the coconut buns. Meanwhile the noodles are smooth but of a consistency more like pasta than traditional chinese noodles. In short Panda Dim Sum is a welcome option to have, delivering decent Chinese cuisine and fresh dumplings to this part of East London but it doesn't quite rival other Chinese restaurants that can be found throughout London.
