Not super close to anything but within a short drive ( or long walk ) of everything. Good restaurants in town as well The jacuzzi was incredibly hot consistently. Thank you volcanic hot springs. There are only 20 river front cottages on the property. Each has a deck with comfortable chairs and steps that lead to a manicured lawn with cushioned chaise lounges at the water's edge. The culinary experience will also impress you. Breakfast and dinner are included and the staff will quickly learn and address you by name. 'Pampered' throughly describes how the management and services teams will make you feel. If you have an opening on your bucket list, fill it with this New Zealand gem. Bravo Huka !!

So many special places! If you don't want to take the longer 8 hour hike, there is a short one hour hike nearby where you can check out the falls. We spent three hours between the main pool, the water slides, the splash pad. I had to drag my husband here and now he recommend it to all our friends who visit Taupo. The noise from the stairwell my room was next to was only bothersome in the evening when the foot traffic picked up and in the morning when people were leaving, but other than that, it was quiet. There is a restaurant on site w/takeaways and the check-in/check-out process was very fast, which I always appreciate! The parking is a limited, but I was able to find a space easily. There is also a water dispenser in the lobby to fill up your water bottle.
