I'm not terribly picky with hotels; just give me spotless and I'm happy. I don't need complimentary amenities, a nice view, or 24 hour room service. But if there are white sheets, bleach them to get the stains out! I hate stained linen and seeing hair on the bed. It might be left over from housekeeping, but it makes me terribly uncomfortable nonetheless.
Otherwise, the location is pretty cool, the view of the bay is neat, and the AC is a godsend for someone who cannot stand the heat.
One of our towels had a huge hole in it. When we asked for more towels, they waited for us to hand the used ones over. I'm not sure if that's a thing, but it definitely isn't in the United States.
The complimentary breakfast is just so-so. The flies in the bistro are a problem. We had 8 people in our party and they only gave us 7 breakfast coupons. When I asked about it, the front desk told us we would need to pay for the last person.
The breakfast is in the Pirates bistro, and they give you a voucher for breakfast with extremely limited choices. They don't refill your coffee or give you any juice as an option. It's coffee, tea, or milk. They won't give you milk for your coffee--just powdered creamer.
The food itself is decent and definitely tastes like the cooks know what they're doing. I had toast, scrambled eggs, and really great bacon.
I would definitely suggest an open continental breakfast instead so people can have more freedom of choice and eat what they want if they don't want to do an open hot breakfast. It would probably be cheaper for them that way too. read more
