This is a very large resale shop, filled with vintage furniture, clothes, household items, and tons of glassware. There's also dolls, records, prints, books, jewelry, Coca-Cola items, and shoes. The store is comprised of several dozen resale nooks of various vendors thus adding to such a myriad selection. Everything throughout the store is very well merchandised and there is no musty smell associated with the old things. If you find something you like here, you will pay top dollar for it. One thing about me is I love to rifle through oodles of stuff. I like yard sales garage, sales, vintage stores, consignment, shops, Goodwill, Salvation Army, swap, meats, flea markets, pulgas, bin stores , if I could rifle around like a raccoon in the trash, but I'm content if I find some bad ass fines while rifling, but I'm happy, if I get them for a fantastic deal that I'm absolutely ecstatic. I've only always been one of those shoppers that has to touch nearly everything icy whether I plan on buying it or not if it's something that scented I have to smell it if it's something that has an usual texture, I have to rub it or put it up against my face or something to see what kind of tact sensations it has if it's something that makes music like those annoying figurines during the holiday season that sing, you know Christmas jingles that I have to press the button all the buttons. actually I'll press every single toy that's on and then I'm able to place some music from. I'll put them all on to the horror of mini store associates, I like to try things on if I'm not sure I'm gonna buy them or if I know flat out I'm definitely not gonna buy them. I still want to try them on although look at this like it's a bad thing I don't look at shopping like it's a necessity just to get goods, I look at it like it's an experience, I like to look at everything touch everything make all kinds of decisions using critical, thinking, try to get the best bargain. I can chitchat with the people that work there possibly even other customers in the store, if there's cool people that happen to meet, I know this sounds horrible and you're probably thinking that I'm really materialistic and maybe it's partially true, because I do like material comforts, and pretty things, and stuff that smells good, and stuff that feels good on my skin, and things taste good, but my favorite is experiences that I've never had before to me that is the ultimate experience to see something or hear something or smell something or touch something that I've never done previously. Also, I like to be able to find something that I know someone I care about will absolutely love that way I could surprise them with it, so it's not really shopping it's more like treasure hunting I think I miss my calling as I think I would've been at fantastic buyer for a chain store or a department store or consignment shop or a boutique or something so instead of doing professionally, I do it recreationally. That me rattling on about myself, I know that you're on yelp to find out about the quality, selection, Customer Service, location, prices, variety of goods, and if it's a good value to spend your hard earned money at an establishment. I wanted to give it background on why I was so excited to find the red rooster in new Braunfels. It says antique mall on the outside and there is a lot of antiques in there, but not dusty old smells like mothballs type of antiques there is no bowling alley employee shirts from 1972 incomplete sets of Christmas ornaments or tattered Halloween costumes from the 1980s. Parentheses not that that would put me off in the slightest if there was however this particular store had much better offerings inside when I walked in I spoke to Mary to put my purse behind the counter because they prefer you not to walk around with big bags or purses, which makes sense since the store is so large and there's so much stuff in it it would be hard for their loss prevention to know if you're sticking things into your huge bag so tell me to give it to her. I made sure that I already did, that way my hands were also free to examine all the merchandise better. I don't want to get into too much of what my personal shopping was there instead, I will give you a brief inventory of what I happened to see on this day which was February 29 Lead year 2024. I went inside the store around 430 or so p.m., upon arriving I left my bag with Mary. Home had fantastic customer service skills, and I felt safe enough to leave my bag behind the counter with her. it is my first time in there shopping and she told me what booths had discounts as it turned out that day. Walked in and were not greeted. Another gentleman walked in behind our family and was greeted immediately. Took in our stroller and within minutes the ladies at the front followed him and were looking under the stroller and giving him dirty looks. Walked into the furniture section with my daughter and the workers there couldn't be bothered to acknowledge us. After about five minutes I went to find my husband to leave and he had the same idea. It was such an awkward and uncomfortable feeling that we had to get out. Upon leaving we saw on the door they didn't allow strollers so maybe that's why they were so rude? Either way they could have been friendly and just let us know instead of acting the way they did. We will not be back because of the workers. read more

The women who work here are not nice. I have been in several times and have either been trailed throughout the store as though I might steal something, been literally glared at, or completely overlooked. They have some kind of weird thing going on where they only like to help certain people. One time I was lingering in front of a locked case for several minutes and looking around for someone who works there. I watched the woman who worked there look at me and then look down. Then someone walks in the front door and they cheerfully and enthusiastically greeted them and offered to help them immediately. The only difference I noticed between the two of us was that the woman was dressed nicer than I was. Another time I had to call for the woman sitting behind the counter, at least three times before she looked up and reluctantly grabbed the keys to the case I was looking at. Basically, and never feel as though I am welcome. This is a huge bummer because they have some really great stuff in the store at some really good prices (hence the 2 stars). I just can't get past the rudeness of the people who work there. read more

Service was horrible, my family and I went to visit this place for the first time and as soon as we walked in we were met with attitude. We were told they closed at 5 and they snapped at us. So I went to tell my mother in law so we could leave and my father in law said we could stop by tomorrow to which the worker scoffed and replied, "Are you even gonna be here tomorrow?" We live in the area and wanted to support a local business. Will NOT return, I work in the customer service industry, and the behavior from the employees was unacceptable. read more

even though i lived in New Braunfels years ago.... i found the Red Rooster... very nice. I really liked the owner. I had inquired about a space to rent.... she went out of her way to show me different spaces, then ran out to my car to give me her business card. ..... sure, you say ...shes the owner...but you would be surprised that owners of places are not real sales people or like people. I have spent countless hours - yes, I said hours - in here. There is just so much to look at and go through, it's ridiculous. I believe the building used to be a Lack's Furniture some years ago so just imagine just how much they can pack into this place. Many of the stands do have one of a kind items but there are just as many that seem to be personal stuff that the seller may just be trying to get rid of from home. My husband and I always stop at The Red Rooster on our way into Gruene. We love walking through the different booths to see what they have. Everything is always arranged very well and not too overcrowded like some antique stores. There is a good mixture of everything as well. My husband likes to go straight to the booth with the motorcycle and cars memorabilia and pieces. I enjoy the booth with the home décor that is always set up like a show home. We both love to walk around and point out items and guess what they might be or do. It is always a lot of fun! read more

Another place my husband and I have been trying to visit, and finally made it to this week. We went to several antique establishments, and this was by far our most favorite. Every booth was clean and organized. The women at the front will let you walk around at your leisure. Many items are in good to perfect condition. Not like some antique stores where many items are broken. Prices also seemed very fair on most items. For anything over $30, they will give you 10% off if you request it for some reason. Anything beyond that, they'll have to contact the seller. Overall fun place, and we suggest going for a tour. We'll be back for sure! read more

If you life stepping back in time, take a walk into the RR. This place has new and antique items that is sure to please something for everyone. Like most antique stores, people have kiosks they rent out with all the stuff they would like to sell. If you are a collector, they have specialized items as well. I am not much of collector, though I do find great stuff from time to time. I do not live in the area, though when I am in town, I pick up items that reflect my appreciation for design for old and new. They have layaway, which is great for me, they can hold on to my stuff while I figure out where to store until the next time I am I town. I have shopped at a LOT of antique stores in my life. This is hands-down the best one I have ever been to. A lot of stores are filled with glassware and knick knacks. This had a ton of great antique furniture, signs, records, and just about anything you could think of. Good thing we don't live Texas - I would have taken home half the furniture!! This is a bright, clean store with alot of variety. We were greeted cheerily when we walked in. We spent about an hour here but didn't finish as there is so much to see. Prices seemed pretty fair. The vendors were very kind and told us places to see in the city and where to eat nearby. We will definitely return to see what other treasures we can find here! read more

nicely laid out store plenty of room between stalls *air conditioning * plus public restrooms clean and accessable . items for sale range from old LP records, folk art ,china/ silver, coins clothing and furniture. we just happened to pass by it looked so inviting so we stopped in, purchased a few items but to much to see in the short time *1 hour* we had allocated . a longer time frame is required for establishment of this nature to search for hidden treasures, will be back when next in new braunfels read more

I've recently purchased a type writer from here and it is in such good condition. This antique store is so big and there's so much stuff to go through but it's very well organized!!! Large place with several vendors. Big variety of items so it is worth a visit any day. Don't think you can just rush in and have a quick look. It will take awhile to browse. We visited with the grandfather clock vendor on one trip in and found out that our grandfather clock could actually be repaired. That alone gets them a bonus star. Have purchased items here that were both big and small in price and scale. Most items seem to be priced on the higher end but if you search long enough you can find some great deals. read more
