The red feather is a long time downtown Lousiville staple as it is an abstract sculpture by artist Alexander Calder sculpted in 1975 and sits in front of Kentucky center for the performing arts building.
I can remember seeing this sculpture and taking class Photos in front of it as a youngster on field trips to the performing center of the arts.
It wasn't until recently where I decided to get up close and personal and read about its origins and artist on the placard that sits at the feet of the sculpture.
Overall great piece that has a long lasting history with the city. Off the top of my head and memory it is the longest standing sculpture that I can envision for the city or Louisville. read more
