To enter the main music venue you have to go around the back (oh-er missus!) and apparently there's a bar next door, that you enter around the front! We didn't visit this part of the bar so I can't comment on it. There's a good size car park at the back, and it's free! It's one of those places where EVERYTHING is sticky (make your own joke there!!) Not just the dance floor but the walls, tables, seats etc. So try not to stay in one place for too long. I guess it's a good excuse to get dancing! They didn't have lots of seats so some people braved sitting on the floor. They may still be there now, stuck forever... They have a great line up of music acts, from tribute bands to proper bands, across lots of different music genres! I went to the Dames of Darkness festival, which was a two day event consisting of 15 female-fronted metal/rock/goth bands from all over the world. Well worth the money. On the Saturday the mike was a bit squeaky (did it need greasing up?!) but the sound was absolutely fine on the Sunday. They serve food all day and was I assured their vegetarian burger was suitable for vegans, but I had my doubts after trying one on the Saturday. The chips were very nice though. On the Sunday I confused the woman behind the bar by asking for chips and a plain bun. I had to explain that I wanted to make myself a chip butty! My friends said the pizza was good, and people seemed to constantly have their lips around pizza and wraps so they must've been tasty! The bar staff were friendly, despite it being very busy. In my tip, I mentioned napkins. People seemed to be constantly walking passed with these stuck to the bottom of their boots, I found it rather amusing! The toilets are upstairs. The stairs are also sticky, making it seem like a mountain hike to get to the top! (there is a disabled toilet downstairs). The ladies toilets stayed fairly clean the whole day/evening and for some reason they reminded me of secondary school toilets. There's plenty of them and I never needed to queue. I'd definitely go back here. It's not an outstanding venue but if a band you like are playing then GO!

Some of the names that have played here are amazing. Then... they let me on the stage. What were they thinking? So, the sound was very good - tending to lean toward a "Rockier" sound due to the dimensions of the room. It is a little bit of a "sticky-floor" type venue, but without a doubt has plenty of guts and integrity in it's credentials. One point that I will speak of was the food that we were served. I am not sure if the band food is from a menu that is on offer at The Robin, but it was first-class and home cooked. I went for the lamb shank and it was fantastic. All in all a great venue with some brilliant acts on the roster. I will look forward to returning whether it be onstage or off. Restaurant Review…read more Sinatra's Bar & Restaurant Nottingham We were invited by Chef Sam to dine at Sinatra's prior to the launch of their Autumn Winter menu. Sam explained how he has endeavoured to inject a fresh approach to Bistro Dining at Sinatra's using local produce and creative twists on traditional flavour pairings. With the recent Casual Dining revival, it was refreshing to see this enthusiasm of ethos be transferred to the plate in what proved to be a stunning Brasserie/Bistro experience. The Menu is varied and with a Lunch Set Menu also available. Gluten Free options are plentiful and all dietary requirements are catered for. The journey began with Pan Seared Scallops, Black Pudding, Caramelised Apple, and Crispy Pancetta. The presentation was delightful (pictured) with everything cooked perfectly. That unforgettable texture contrast of Scallop and Black Pudding is always a winner but this was executed with finesse. Thankfully, the finesse continued with mains. Pan Roasted Duck Breast, Date Purée, Honey & Orange Mash, Sautéed Leeks, Red Wine Jus (pictured) stole the show with beautifully earthy flavours and that sweet and citrus edge from the Dates and Orange respectively. The Fresh Salmon Fillet, Lemon & Herb Sautéed Potatoes, Roasted Cherry Tomatoes, Olives and Tartare Sauce (pictured) was so perfect for this time of year. I think the Sinatra's ethos is personified by this dish. While two stars seems like a miserly score, Yelp's accompanying description sums up my experience at Sinatra's perfectly: Meh. I've had better. Me and my girly visited Sinatra's for my impromptu birthday dinner yesterday evening. We decided to go at the last minute and, due to the glorious weather, everyone in Nottingham had decided to go out too, so it was to be expected that a lot of the nicer restaurants might be quite busy. However, this was the exchange between myself and waiter 'Mark' (I can't remember if this was his name or not), who greeted us when we entered: Mark: Table for two? Me: Yes please. Mark: Did you book in advance? Me: Uh... no. Mark. Oh, well, sorry - we're very busy. Uh... what? You can't start by offering us a table and *then* ask if we've made reservations, then refusing us a table! I thought I'd try the pulling the birthday card to see if it made any difference: Me: It *is* my birthday, though. Mark: Well then you should have booked. Wow - Mark clearly wasn't paying attention in Customer Service School. At this point I lost any interest I had in Sinatra's and turned to walk away. I think Mark may have panicked slightly at this point and offered us a table in the Bistro. This is a section of Sinatra's that isn't any different to the main restaurant except that it's closer to the bar and has comfier chairs. I ordered the Chicken & Bacon Caesar Salad and we had a side garlic bread and fries (which were recommended by Mark). The food was completely unremarkable, with the exception of the bacon my Caesar Salad which, rather than being chopped up or diced pancetta-style, were served as two whole strips resting atop my salad and looked like they had been cured for a long sea voyage. Impressively, the bacon tasted even worse than it looked, with a horrible overbearing residual flavour of salt and fat. The fries tasted exactly the same, only with twice as much salt. This may seem fairly picky, but why do Sinatra's serve bacon and fries flavoured exclusively with sodium and lard, then give me a small pot of cheap low-fat mayonnaise? The service was fine, although I was obviously put off by Mark following our initial exchange. This was not helped when the bill arrived with a 10% service charge automatically added with no mention of it being 'voluntary' or any option to have it removed. I never tip unless the service is exceptional, so to force my hand into paying extra for such average service and a far-less-than exceptional meal is bordering on offensive. Of course, the only way to have the extra 10% removed would have been to call someone over, take exception to the charge, get a new bill printed, and in the meantime know that the waiters would be pointing me out to each other through the kitchen doors and telling each other what a complete asshole I am. As it was my birthday, I decided to skip this step and pay the 10%. Sinatra's isn't terrible, but it is distinctly unremarkable, bordering on being a bit rubbish. If you want a standout Italian meal for a decent price, good service and an *optional* service charge, try Strada instead.

They have a great selection of real ales on tap as well as a good selection of the usual lagers and beers. There is also a selection of food and snacks. I wasn't too impressed with the cleanliness in the ladies toilets but it was the end of the night. One of the nicest things about this pub is that there is no loud thumping music so you can sit and have a relaxing drink in a nice atmosphere and chat easily without having to shout to your friends.
