The pub itself is quite big, and has many rooms with plenty of seating. It kinda feels like your friend's grandparent's house with random chairs, and nook and crannies. The bathrooms are outside, and the sinks have freezing cold water. This probably isn't as much of a problem in the summer, but we were here in December, and it was absolutely freezing out and the thought of heading out to the loo was dreadful! Everyone was really friendly; it's a real locals only pub, but everyone was quite chatty and in good holiday spirits! It was a nice welcoming crowd. Best of all, there's a super friendly pub kitty!

The reason for our regular visits to The Pheasant is down to their excellent food. They offer a good variety of pub food, including seasonal dishes alongside the usual classics such as sausage and mash or fish and chips. On my last visit, I had grilled guinea fowl, which was superb and perfectly accompanied by chorizo, tomato and bacon - definitely one to try. The staff there are pleasant and friendly and the atmosphere is both warm and relaxing, ensuring every dining experience there is an enjoyable one. The prices aren't too unreasonable, but when the food's this good you really shouldn't care even if it does seem expensive.

Really stylish decor and has a great atmosphere too. Drinks are reasonably priced and staff are very friendly. The also serve food but the kitchen was closed on the day of our visit so didn't get a chance to test the menu but it looked like there was a good choice and prices were reasonable. They have a heated smoking area to the front of the pub too.

It is a large pub located on a busy junction. The Black Bull has been there for as long as I can remember. It often changes its management which I feel results in it staying fresh and interesting. The bar is well stocked and the staff work hard to make sure you get served as quickly as possible. The pub is quite smart inside and the staff and regulars are welcoming and talkative. On some nights they have karaoke and bands playing here and this provides a nice change from the norm. This is an excellent place which you much visit if you are in North Liverpool.

Despite apparently being shut when I visited one wintry afternoon, the barman was only too happy to open up and get the taps working so we could get a pint. He then stuck a few quid in the jukebox and left us to choose the songs ourselves. You don't get staff more helpful than that, provided of course he was a member of staff and not just a foiled burglar.
