The Range at Bury The Rock is located in the unit formerly occupied by Debenhams, it's a large store with three floors, and over the three floors there is also a selection of groceries from Iceland, and a Cafe also run by Iceland.
The store was fairly attractive, yet tacky in some areas, and had a wide selection of products, including kitchen fittings, furniture as well as random homeware items including baking trays and ornaments.
Prices were mostly reasonable and not too expensive.
It was fairly easy to navigate the store going upwards, however coming down I did find it a little difficult due to an escalator being out of order, forcing customers to use the stairs or elevators which were slightly hidden, there was also a lack of staff members on the shop floor to offer assistance, granted the store is very large so it wouldn't make sense to have staff everywhere given the fact it wasn't busy... but better signage could be a compromise.
The opening hours are very good, between Monday and Saturday, The Range is one of the last stores in the town centre to close and remains open until 8 PM, although the Cafe does close earlier.
3* - OK, it's certainly better than an empty unit for sure, and I did originally have my doubts it would be filled after Debenhams was forced into closure, but the store is decent too and a great brand to have in Bury's town centre. read more
