We were invited here after texting friends to go for a meal out. I looked at the prices online and I was a bit apprehensive after the let down of a more expensive michelin star chasing establishment on the other side of town which I felt was more suited to wag types, as the prices were high but the quality was not. Anyway back to the Raby Hunt, my worries could not have been more unfounded. The food was simply excellent, bursting with depths of flavour that show the chef is more than a tad talented, and presented with a flair than showcased the food beautifully without looking overly showy, (I hate food that looks like its been played with by a brigade of five chefs before it arrives at the table), the starter was accompanied Pre and Après by a rather delicious amuse-bouche, a smoked loin of rabbit for one and tasty morsels of pork 'four ways' from the Alsace region of France bursting with flavour for the other. The starter I chose was a rack of lamb with a parcel of braised lamb neck, and for mains a fillet of beef with a confit of Ox-Tail. Tender, rich and full of flavour, the only thing that would have bettered the meal for me would have been a half bottle of Bordeaux from one of the first growth estates to wash it down with. read more
